Abstract:

A mobile online vacation rental booking system, having a mobile application with a selectable user interface, coupled to a mobile device display, and configured to transmit vacation data to the mobile device and receive vacation data from the mobile device. An aggregator search engine is coupled to receive vacation data from the mobile device and to transmit vacation data to the mobile device. Remote partner databases are coupled with the engine to exchange the vacation data. The engine is configured to cause the vacation data to be shown on the display. A method of booking an online vacation rental uses a mobile device to: select a geospatial region; access partner databases with the mobile device to find a vacation rental properties; identify vacation rental properties; explore attractions close to the vacation rental properties; display a property detail of the vacation rental properties; and select one of the vacation rental properties.

Abstract:

The present invention provides, in at least one embodiment, an online vacation rental booking system having a plurality of cells comprising rows and columns, the rows having a number of bedrooms and the columns having a period of time. In one embodiment, a first cell is tied to a particular number of bedrooms for the vacation rental and tied to a particular month. The first cell illustrates the number of vacation rentals available and the average nightly price of the available vacation rentals. Embodiments provide significant help to the vacation rental traveler in deciding which month to travel, which city to travel to, and how to easily find a number of bedrooms large enough for the traveler's family.

Abstract:

A property search engine interface, having a plurality of coupled, color-coded, interactive cells each having a record therein. Cells are arranged in a grid format, a horizontal row is representative of a first characteristic, and a vertical column is representative of a second characteristic. A respective cell of the plurality of cells corresponds to the first characteristic and a second characteristic, and a cell color-coding of the cell is representative of a third characteristic. Each interactive cell contains a record corresponding to the third characteristic, and the record is selected by a search engine coupled to a vacation rental database. The first characteristic is a time characteristic, the second characteristic is an accommodation characteristic, and the third characteristic is an average nightly price characteristic. The record corresponds to an average nightly price record related to the time characteristic and the accommodation characteristic.
