Abstract:
An adaptive hybrid energy system is provided. The system includes a first DC energy source that generates a first DC output by converting a first type of energy into an electrical output. Additionally, the system includes at least a second DC energy source that generates a second DC electrical output by converting a second type of energy into an electrical output. The system further includes a cascaded multilevel converter electrically connected to the first and second DC energy sources to convert a DC electrical output into a sinusoidal electrical output when at least one of the first and second DC energy sources is operable.

Abstract:
Different circuit-based implementations of stochastic anti-windup PI controllers are provided for a motor drive controller system. The designs can be implemented in a Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) device. The anti-windup PI controllers are implemented stochastically so as to enhance the computational capability of FPGA.
High-Frequency-Link Power-Conversion System Having Direct Double-Frequency Ripple Current Control And Method Of Use

Abstract:
A direct double-frequency ripple current control in a two-stage high-frequency-link (HFL) based fuel cell converter that can achieve low-frequency ripple free input current without using large electrolytic capacitors is provided. To eliminate the double-frequency ripple current disturbance introduced by the single-phase inverter load, a proportional-resonant (PR) controller is developed to achieve an extra high control gain at designed resonant frequency. This high gain can be viewed as the virtual high impedance for blocking the double-frequency ripple energy propagation from inverter load to fuel cell stack. More particularly, the proposed control system can realize the utilization of all capacitive ripple energy sources in the system by regulating all the capacitors to have large voltage swing and the voltage swing is synchronized to keep real-time balancing of the transformer primary-side and secondary-side voltages. As a result, the zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) operation for all switching devices in the dc-dc stage can be guaranteed.
The disclosure relates to a devices, systems and methods implementing a single transformer-based gate driver. In one embodiment, single transformer-based gate driver includes an RF source; a PWM controller; an edge detector and pulse generating circuit operably connected to the RF source and PWM controller; a transformer comprising a primary side and a secondary side, the primary side of the transformer operably connected to an output of the edge detector and pulse generating circuit, the secondary side of the transformer operably connected to a rectifier circuit and a signal recovery circuit; and a drive circuit operably connected to the rectifier circuit and the signal recovery circuit.
