Abstract:

A method of attaching supplemental hair to natural human hair begins with selecting a plurality of strands of human hair growing from a scalp. A supplemental hair bundle includes a plurality of supplemental hair strands previously glued to one another at a glued portion by thermoplastic glue. The glued portion is fused using a heating element of an applicator. The glued portion of the supplemental hair bundle is then contacted to the selected plurality of strands of human hair. The heating element may be a heated jaw having a heating channel shaped to receive the glued portion of the bundle. A kneading jaw in opposing relationship to the heating jaw may be used to clamp the human hair and the supplemental hair bundle mix the glue into the strands of human hair. Bundles are made by placing supplemental hair strands in a film of fused glue on a rotating cylinder.

Abstract:

An attachment for a hair styling iron, or a new hair styling iron, includes a hair pick and plurality of comb teeth. The hair pick, which is used for selecting and separating hair, may be moveable between an extended position and a retracted position. The comb teeth are located adjacent to a heating element for extending into the hair when the hair styling iron contacts and moves along the length of a bundle of hair. The attachment may be slid over a heating element arm, wherein a retaining lip hooks around to engage an inner surface of the heating element arm adjacent to the heating element. In another embodiment, a new hair styling iron includes comb teeth adjacent to a heating element of the hair styling iron, and a hair pick that extends beyond the end of a heating element arm of the hair styling iron.

Abstract:

A bundle of growing human hair is selected. A bundle of supplemental hair is located together with the selected bundle of growing human hair to form a joint at an attachment site. The joint is inserted into an opening between legs of a U-shaped hair clip, and legs of the hair clip are bent and clinched around the joint. Strands in the bundle of supplemental hair may be pre-glued to one another. An apparatus for fastening a bundle of supplemental hair to a bundle of growing human hair includes a base having an anvil. An arm assembly is movably connected to the base. A driver is coupled to the arm assembly for pressing an open hair clip into the anvil to close the clip. A clip for fastening hair bundles has a crown coupled to spaced apart legs. The clip legs are made of a malleable material.

Abstract:

A wig arrangement is provided with a primary wig and a hair piece extension. The primary wig has a first foundation while the extension has a second foundation. The hair piece extension forms a second wig that is removably coupled to the primary wig. The primary wig is structured and arranged to be secured to a human head. The wig arrangement can be worn either with the primary wig or a combination of the primary wig and the hair extension so as to change the look and styling of the wearer's head. Fasteners such as snap fits are used to removably secure the primary wig and the hair piece extension.

A wig and hairpiece extension arrangement is provided with a top wig, an intermediate wig, and a lower wig. The top wig has a generally circular first foundation. The intermediate wig has a second foundation that is arcuate, while the lower wig has a third foundation that is a portion of a semi-circle. The top wig is structured and arranged to be secured to the top of a human head with the intermediate wig located along the upper rear of the head and the lower wig located along the rear of the head below the intermediate wig. The wig arrangement can be worn with different spacings, colors and styles and either with or without the intermediate wig so as to change the look and styling of the wearer's head.
