Abstract:

What is disclosed is a novel system and method for minimizing visual artifacts, such as ROS skew and laserbeam bow, in a brick-layer halftone structure. The present method involves determining a line pattern from ROS skew and laserbeam bow profiles which traverses through successive halftone cells displacing pixels along scanlines in the process direction. The amount of displacement is varied as a function of the cross-process location as determined by the line pattern. Pixels along scanlines are shifted in a direction defined by the error profiles. In each halftone cell within which the line pattern traverses, extra pixels (empty pixel spaces created in the halftone cell by the shifting operation) are filled with lost pixels (pixels bumped from the halftone cell during the shifting operation) such that overall density of the halftone cell is maintained. The lost pixels are buffered such that lost pixels are preserved.

In a method of programming for image enhancement, a content addressable memory is accessed. At least one template is transferred into the content addressable memory. A random access memory is accessed. Enhancement data is transferred into the random access memory. Video data input is inputted into the content addressable memory. Abstract:

A solid state crossing controller for a railroad crossing signal system with two independent outputs for controlling illumination of lamps in the signal system share a common neutral or return wire, with sensing of a common neutral or return line shared by the two independent outputs to determine any loss of the neutral line. When a failure has been detected in the neutral line, the controller modifies the voltages for the lamps in the signaling system for better illumination of the lamps during the failure condition, such as to the highest voltage available from a battery in the system. Upon detection of the failure in the neutral line, the controller may provide a call or message that there is a failure in the system that is in need of repair. If the failure in the neutral line is intermittent, the controller will resume normal operation after that train, has cleared the crossing. However, a call or message that a failure has occurred in the neutral line is provided. Tests for the failure will be repeated when the next train approaches the crossing. Related methods for determining whether a failure has occurred in the neutral line are also disclosed.

Abstract:

A system for providing an output from a digital printing apparatus which is of higher resolution than the native resolution of the original image data. For a given center pixel area, image data corresponding to pixel areas generally neighboring the center pixel area are attempted to be matched to various templates which are consistent with curved lines in which resolution enhancement of the center pixel would be desirable. In a second stage of template matching, a second set of image data, corresponding to pixel areas further away from the center pixel than the first set of pixel areas, is also attempted to be matched to templates. The second stage of template matching helps to avoid resolution enhancement of image data which is related to a halftone image.

Described herein are methods and compositions for treatment of diabetes and/or obesity. Bitter oligopeptide molecules formulated for enteric delivery modulate signals involving receptors facing the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract, said signaling related hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and peptide tyrosine-tyrosine (PYY) that involve inhibition of gastric emptying and appetite.
