Abstract:
A system transfers data between a client computer and a server computer over a network, wherein communications are established over a first data link between the client and the server to provide the server with identification of the data to be transferred, then communications are established over a second data link between the client and the server for data transfer such that the second data link has a faster data transfer rate than the first data link, then the identified data is transferred from the client to the server; and then finally the client computer is provided with status information relating to the transfer of the identified data. The first data link is sufficient to support normal data operations utilizing existing network resources. The second data link can connect the clients to one or more of the servers, or may connect only particular clients and servers with special needs for large data transfer. The system provides efficient transfer of large data blocks from clients to servers over the network, without disruption to normal data operations and without a requirement for extensive and expensive resource upgrades or cumbersome and inconvenient archive methodologies.

An intravascular stent for controlled release of therapeutic drugs and for delivery of the therapeutic drugs in localized drug therapy in a blood vessel having a tubular stent member formed of a microcellular porous metal capable of absorbing and releasing therapeutic drugs, wherein a thin layer of a polymeric material is applied to an outer surface of the tubular stent member. A method of making a polymer coated, porous metal stent having sufficient strength and capable of absorbing and releasing therapeutic drugs for the delivery of same in localized drug therapy at an intravascular site is also disclosed herein.

Abstract:
A policy-based data management system, method, and apparatus are disclosed. The system, method, and apparatus are configured to operate over a distributed storage system such as a storage area network (SAN). Files to be stored on the network are each assigned a service class and a storage pool based on the application of policies to file attributes such as file name, type, user, etc. The service class and storage pool designations are stored as metadata. Files may be retrieved using the metadata to identify the storage pool where the file is stored, and the service class listed within the metadata may be used to control the manner in which the file is handled. A metadata server may be utilized to provide the appropriate service class of files in response to requests from remote clients that may be of different computing platforms.
Mechanism For Enabling A Network Address To Be Shared By Multiple Labeled Containers

International Classification:
G06F 15/173
US Classification:

Abstract:
A mechanism is disclosed for enabling a network address to be shared by multiple containers. By allowing multiple containers to share a network address, a limit on network addresses does not limit the number of containers that can be implemented. Despite the fact that the network address is shared by multiple containers, the uniqueness and isolation of each container is still maintained. In one implementation, this is achieved by associating a unique label with each container. With this unique label, it is possible to forward a packet destined for the shared network address to a specific container despite the fact that multiple containers share the same network address. Thus, with this mechanism, it is possible to achieve container isolation and uniqueness without limiting container scalability.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus directed to formation of a connection with an ultrasonic transducer apparatus (UTA) comprising a transducer device having first and second electrodes is provided. The UTA is engaged with an interposer device surface. The interposer device is greater in at least one lateral dimension than and extends laterally outward of the UTA, and comprises at least two laterally-extending conductors. A conductive engagement is formed between the first and second electrodes and respective first ends of the conductors. A connection support substrate is engaged with the interposer device about second ends of the conductors, and includes at least two connective elements for forming a conductive engagement with the respective second ends of the conductors. The UTA is then inserted into a catheter member lumen such that the device plane of the UTA and the at least two connective elements extend axially along the lumen.

Abstract:
An ultrasound device including an ultrasonic transducer device having a plurality of transducer elements forming a transducer array is provided. Each transducer element includes a piezoelectric material disposed between a first electrode and a second electrode. One of the first and second electrodes is a ground electrode and the other of the first and second electrodes is a signal electrode. The ultrasound device further includes a cable assembly having a plurality of connective signal elements and a plurality of connective ground elements extending in substantially parallel relation therealong. Each connective element is configured to form an electrically-conductive engagement with respective ones of the signal electrodes and the ground electrodes of the transducer elements in the transducer array. The connective ground elements are alternatingly disposed with the connective signal elements across the cable assembly, to provide shielding between the connective signal elements.
