Abstract:

A helicopter mast is driven by a transmission with a swashplate individually linked to pitch horns on each rotor blade. At least four actuators are coupled to the swashplate, three of which normally control the attitude and position of the swashplate. A separate power unit is provided for each actuator, each power unit being independently driven from the transmission. Means are then provided to shift control of the swashplate from one of the three actuators to a fourth actuator upon any one becoming disabled.

Abstract:

A memory circuit to be connected to a central processing unit through an information bus and including a memory bank for storing several data words with each word having its own unique address, and including control circuitry enabling a user to obtain a data word having an address within a first address space in response to a first set of control signals and enabling the user to obtain a second data word having a second address contained within a second address space in response to a second set of control signals wherein the second address space are the addresses not included in the first address space. Also detailed is an embodiment that provides two modes of operation for a memory apparatus. In the first operational mode, the apparatus functions as a standard memory providing one word per address. In the second configuration, the memory provides a series of data words in accordance with the single address and an address incrementing signal.

Abstract:

A memory system for use in a computer system, includes a plurality of volatile solid state memory devices that retain information when an electrical power source is applied to the memory devices within a predetermined voltage range, and are capable of being placed in a self refresh mode. The memory devices have respective address and control lines, and a control device for selectively electrically isolating the memory devices from respective address lines and respective control lines so that when the memory devices are electrically isolated, any signals received on the respective address lines and respective control lines do not reach the memory devices. The memory system includes a memory access enable control device coupled to the control device and to the control lines for determining when the memory system is not being accessed, and for initiating a low power mode for the memory system wherein the control device electrically isolates the memory devices and places the memory devices in the self refresh mode.

Abstract:

A low insertion force connector contact assembly (122) has two contacts (136, 144) which are separated by insulation (143) from one another to provide separate circuit paths for separately engaging a mating contact (166) of a mating connector (22) in a Kelvin test configuration. The contact (144) engages the mating contact (166) of the mating connector (22) for applying current and voltage to the mating contact (166). The contact (136) engages the mating contact (166) for measuring the voltages of the mating contact (166). Preferably, the contact (144) is a spring biased plunger which is urged from a retracted position to an extended position. In the extended position, the contact (144) pushes the contact (136) aside of a position for engaging the mating contact (166). When the mating connector (22) is being engaged with the connector assembly (122), the mating contact (166) pushes the spring biased, plunger contact (144) from the extended position to the retracted position, releasing the contact (136) to engage with mating contact (166) with a wipe during a makeup stroke in which the mating contact (166) is engaged within the contact assembly (122). This type of contact assembly connection may be used with mating contacts (166) of various cross sections, such edge connector lands, and square, rectangular and round leads.

Abstract:

An alarm control circuit, designed as a unit package to be mounted in the interior of a vehicle, is adapted for connection to the ignition switch circuit, to a vehicle door or other closure operated light switch circuit, and to the vehicle battery, with the output being connected to the vehicle horn circuit. The alarm control circuit is completely automatic when operated through the vehicle ignition switch and a vehicle closure switch, and sounds the vehicle horn intermittently when a closure is opened by unauthorized persons. The alarm control circuit may also be connected to the vehicle headlight switch circuit to provide the ancillary function of a warning signal, should the headlights be left on with the ignition switch off.
