Abstract:

An inner chamber in a housing surrounding a first end of a drive shaft upon which the turbine blades are mounted, a gear ring within the inner chamber fixedly attached to the first end of the drive shaft, the gear ring having a plurality of spaced, ferrite extensions, two magnetic pickup sensors mounted within the inner chamber of the housing in near proximity to the spaced extensions providing indicia of rotating speed as the gear ring revolves with the drive shaft while the magnetic pickup devices remain stationary within the housing, and providing further that during operation, the electronic probe housing automatically sends electric signals to an electronic governor which causes the RPM of the steam turbine to increase, decrease or remain constant.

Abstract:

This invention relates to a method to improve the performance of standard brush seals for rotating shafts. This invention relates to a design that will lower manufacturing costs associated with standard brush seals for rotating shafts. This invention relates to a design that will improve wear characteristics of a standard brush seal. Specifically, the invention is intended to reduce manufacturing costs by combining the standard sealing element of a brush seal with the low cost materials and manufacturing methodologies of a carbon seal.Specifically, the invention is intended to lower the overall weight of the brush seal assembly, thereby improving the life of the brush sealing element and reducing the wear characteristics on both the seal element and the associated shaft.

Abstract:

Disclosed herein are compositions including an extract of mammalian omentum wherein the extract is a liquid portion of the mammalian omentum, such as an oil, extracted when the omentum is heated to a temperature of between 210 and 240 degrees Fahrenheit. Also disclosed are methods of making a composition including an extract of mammalian omentum wherein the method includes heating mammalian omentum to a temperature of between 212 degrees Fahrenheit and 225 degrees Fahrenheit, such as 215 degrees Fahrenheit and 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Methods of use of the disclosed extracts and compositions are provided including methods of inducing or enhancing angiogenesis, methods of improving skin quality and methods of promoting hair growth and/or inhibiting hair loss.

Abstract:

A synergistic combination of one or more antioxidants and sunscreen agents provides superior protection of the skin against the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. In particular embodiments, the antioxidants include lipid soluble vitamins and water soluble antioxidants in an emulsification system, such as a polyorganosiloxane emulsifier. The lipid soluble vitamin component includes Vitamins A and E, while the water soluble antioxidant component includes magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, DL panthenol, beta glucan, grape seed extract and superoxide dismutase. The sunscreen agents may include a UVA sunscreen agent selected from the group of oxybenzone, dioxybenzone, sulisobenzone, avobenzone or zinc oxide, and at least one UVB sunscreen agent, selected from the group of ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, DEA methoxycinnamate, padimate O, ethylhexyl salicylate, homosalate, TEA salicylate, octocrylene or titanium dioxide. The antioxidants and sunscreen agents in combination provide enhanced protection from ultraviolet radiation induced skin damage.

Abstract:

Techniques to facilitate protection of data resources from unauthorized access are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a data shield server instructs a user to replace an address and a port associated with a data resource with an updated address associated with the data shield server and a unique port that is uniquely assigned to the user. A request from the user to access the data resource is received at the updated address associated with the data shield server and on the unique port that is uniquely assigned to the user. In response to the request, the user is authenticated using multi-factor authentication to verify that an identity of the user that submitted the request matches the user assigned to the unique port on which the request was received. Upon successful authentication, the data shield server operates as a proxy to connect the user through to the data resource.
