Abstract:

A polarizer for an antenna and antenna structures are disclosed. According to one aspect a polarizer includes a generally cylindrical sidewall portion extending between spaced apart end portions. At least one polarizing structure extends substantially continuously along an interior of the sidewall portion and extends radially inwardly relative to the sidewall portion according to a first radius in a longitudinal direction and a second radius in a transverse direction. The polarizer can be implemented as part of an antenna structure, which further can be integrated with a transition stage and/or a horn.

Abstract:

A temperature controlled food service container is formed with an inner portion having side walls and an opening for the receipt of food, and an outer portion having sidewalls spaced from the inner portion with a eutectic gel, disposed between them. A ledge extends from the periphery of the outer portion with a flange extending from the inner portion seated against the ledge; and is held by an ultrasonic bond joining the ledge to the flange. The food container has ribs along the sidewalls of the inner and outer portions. Peripheral channels and ridges are formed respectively on the ledge and flange for welded engagement with each other, the channels having enlarged segments which extend beyond the cross-sectional dimension of a respective ridge received therein. The method for making the food service container includes molding an outer walled shell portion having a ledge with at least one peripheral channel, and molding an inner walled shall portion having a major peripheral flange with at least one peripheral protuberance. Thereafter a eutectic gel is placed into the outer walled shell portion and the inner walled shell portion is placed therein.

Abstract:

A device for collecting a urine specimen, which is particularly adapted for females, is configured and adapted for use while the user is sitting on a toilet in the normal position for voiding. The device comprises a collector and a specimen container, preferably integrally assembled together. In use the device selectively collects the clean, contaminant-free mid-stream portion of urine in the container. The urine specimen container is releasably secured to the collector at a bleed-off conduit extending from a collection exit in a urine receiving chamber of the collector. This exit is positioned in the chamber above a urine bleed-off exit in the conduit adapted for receiving and discarding the first-voided portion of urine at a controlled rate. Means are provided for directing into the toilet all of the voided urine in excess of that which is retained in the specimen container, including the discarded first-voided portion. A suitable handle extends radially outward from the collector to facilitate holding the device in the preferred attitude for use.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus are disclosed for accurately removing preselected lengths and thicknesses of insulation from an electrical cable. This is accomplished by making a circumferential cut of preselected depth and distance from the end of the electrical cable, through the use of a guide tool in combination with a first cutting tool. Following the circumferential cut in the insulation, the end portion of the electrical cable is secured in a substantially stationary position through the use of one or more clamping devices in combination with a fixturing body. The insulation layer is then removed through the use of a cylindrical cutting tool guided by a guide body into the end of the electrical cable. This second cutting tool is forced axially along the length of the electrical cable and rotated with respect to the cable so as to perform a circular cutting of the cable insulation in an axial direction from the end of the electrical cable to the location of the previous circumferential cut.
