Abstract:

A method for annealing and galvanizing wires which comprises induction heating the wires in a first chamber at a first higher temperature to anneal the wires, cooling the wires to a second lower temperature in a second chamber and galvanizing the wires in a third chamber. The chambers are in serial communication and the heating, cooling and galvanizing steps are effected in an oxygen free atmosphere.

Abstract:

A wire fencing material comprises parallel line and fill wires extending respectively lengthwise and widthwise. The line and fill wires are secured to one another by welding at cross over locations, and at selected locations and between adjacent fill wires, the line wires have segments projecting alternately from opposite sides of the fencing to thereby define sleeves configured and dimensioned to axially receive support posts.

Abstract:

A wire mesh sandwich construction which comprises an array of line wires, an array of cross wires overlying said array of line wires and a barrier material disposed between the array of line wires and the array of cross wires. The array of line wires is spaced apart from the array of cross wires to form points of intersection therebetween. The array of line wires is joined to said array of cross wires at the points of intersection and through the barrier material, thus securing the barrier material between the array of line wires and the array of cross wires.

Abstract:

A flood flow modulator system including a dam positioned across a watercourse so as to restrict water flow therein and thereby create a retained water body; the dam having an upstream surface facing the water body, an oppositely directed downstream surface, and a top surface joining the upstream and downstream surfaces. Defined by the dam is a slot having substantially vertical side surfaces and a substantially horizontal bottom surface. A gate is pivotally mounted in the slot for movement between a substantially vertical closed position and a substantially horizontal open position; the gate being U-shaped in section and having a front wall with edges disposed adjacent to the side and bottom surfaces so as to substantially close the slot when in the closed position, and sidewalls projecting transversely from the front wall toward the water body and each closely adjacent to a different one of the side surfaces. The sidewalls prevent an accumulation of proximate debris which could adversely affect desired operation of the gate.

Abstract:

A high security fence and post assembly including a T-section post for installation in the ground and having an elongated, upwardly extending first plate portion defining a front surface and a rear surface and an elongated second plate portion projecting transversely from a longitudinally extending section of the rear surface. Also included is a first wire fence panel having a plurality of substantially parallel, spaced apart first wire members and a plurality of substantially parallel, spaced apart second wire members transversely intersecting and attached to the first wire members, the first panel having at one edge a marginal portion overlaying at least a longitudinally extending portion of the front surface; and a second wire fence panel having a plurality of substantially parallel, spaced apart first wire members and a plurality of substantially parallel, spaced apart second wire members intersecting and attached to the first wire members, the second panel having at one edge a marginal portion overlaying at least a longitudinally extending surface portion of the front surface. An elongated plate member overlays the front surface and together therewith straddles the marginal portions of the first and second fence panels; and a securing mechanism secures the plate member to the front surface so as to compress the marginal portions between the plate member and the front first surface.

Abstract:

A container including a plurality of wire mesh wall panels having substantially planar sides and arranged to form an enclosure, adjacent panels having juxtaposed panel edges attached along a plurality of joints, a panel edge attached along at least some of the joints having wire ends forming loops each projecting through a mesh interstice a given distance beyond one planar side of an adjacent planar panel and each loop having a reentrant terminal portion extending back through the mesh interstice beyond an opposite planar side of the adjacent panel. Attaching the reentrant terminal portions on the opposite planar side of the adjacent panel is a retainer wire and a latch link extends through the loops on the one side of the adjacent panel.
