Abstract:

A polishing pad is provided having a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of a conventional electric floor polishing machine. A center aperture is provided in the pad whereby the pad may be secured to the floor polisher in a well-known manner. A plurality of apertures are provided in the pad eccentrically of the central aperture whereby the surface area of the pad is reduced thereby reducing drag on the machine which results in reduction of the current drawn with the consequent reduction in overheating and the blowing of fuses.

Abstract:

Heavy and light denier fiber are opened, forced air transported and gravity deposited to form a stratified layer open mesh web, sprayed with resin on respective sides with the resin cured to set the fiber of the web. The web is preferably cut into sheet form and as mats deposited with the fine denier fiber facing downwardly on a formed sheet of uncured rubber, PVC or like backing material. The surface portion of the fine denier fiber layer of the stratified multi-layer mats are embedded within the backing surface material and the backing material subsequently cured to solidly lock the mat to the backing surface. The formed stratified layer mats with backing surface may be employed as bath mats or the like or the mats cut into sections to form abrasion pads.

Abstract:

A sailing disk and catch game is formed of at least one hand held catch baton having on a distal end a strip fixable attached about the periphery of the rod with radially projecting short length hooks on a radially outer surface of the strip. A thin, hand throwable sailing disk consists of a unitary, light weight semi-rigid, soft highly porous non-woven plastic fiber material with the exposed plastic fibers on the surface thereof constituting with the short length hooks of the baton strip, a two component hook and loop releasable fastening system. The game is readily applicable to indoor play since the sailing disk weighs at the most several ounces and has little impact force when thrown in the style of a FRISBEE. RTM. sailing disk, for catching during flight by the hand held catch baton.

Abstract:

A composite floor pad assembly includes a pair of interchangeable and reversible floor polishing pads having identical external diameters and central openings therethrough of an identical diameter. An intermediate connecting member having a plurality of hook-like members projecting from opposite surfaces thereof and provided with a central opening is detachably connected to opposing surfaces of the two floor polishing pads. A truncated, conical mandrel is also provided over which the pads and connecting member may be placed to facilitate alignment of the pads. The mandrel may be provided with an attachment member for detachably connecting the mandrel to an upper surface of a floor polishing machine.

Abstract:

A rotary, floor polishing and scrubbing pad for a rotary floor polishing machine is provided and includes an elongated member having a generally hourglass shape. The hourglass shape is defined by oppositely disposed, concave side walls extending between a pair of spaced apart outer walls. The concave side walls define cutting edges for cutting away dirt and wax on a floor and then slinging any loosened debris away from the polishing and scrubbing pad during rotation thereof by the rotary floor polishing machine.

Abstract:

A toilet mop is provided with a disposable scrubbing pad which is detachably connected to a handle by a simple, inexpensive device such as a rubberband, whereby the scrub pad can be readily detached from the handle without the necessity of touching the scrubbing pad for disposal purposes. The scrub pad is formed of compressed fibrous material having a slot extending therein from one edge of the pad. A flat insert having a plurality of projections along opposite side edges thereof is disposed in the pad with the projections engaging the fibers to prevent withdrawal of the insert. The handle is provided with a flat portion which may be inserted into the slot in superimposed contact with the insert and the rubberband may be connected between the insert and a notch on the handle to hold the pad on the handle.

Abstract:

A pad holder for holding a rough abrasive pad includes a flat disk-like portion having an elongated slot extending inwardly from an edge thereof, a handle portion disposed at an angle relative to the disk-like portion and an intermediate connecting portion. The handle portion, the connecting portion and the disk portion may be of one piece molded plastic construction. The pad holding slot is provided with outwardly flared edges at the entrance to the slot, a narrow neck portion and a wide interior end portion to facilitate the entry of a folded pad and the retention of the folded pad therein.
