Abstract:
A base-up incandescent lamp () includes a coiled-coil filament () that has a primary wire () and a secondary wire (), the primary wire () comprising an overwind that overlies the secondary wire () and provides a lower filament temperature and, therefore, less filament sag and a concomitant longer lamp life.
A PAR lamp () has a body () with an internal reflector surface () disposed about a longitudinal axis (). A cavity () is provided at one end () of the body () and an arc discharge tube () that provides a substantially spherical light source is positioned in the cavity () and disposed on the longitudinal axis (). A cover receiving opening () is provided at a second end () of the body and a cover () closes the cover receiving opening (). A plurality of spiral facets () is formed on the internal reflector surface (), the plurality of spiral facets () being sufficient in number to increase the maximum beam candle power and decrease the beam angle when compared to faceted lamps having a lesser number of facets. The number of facets is equal to or greater than 75 and preferably is 100.

Abstract:
An integral HID reflector lamp may be formed with an HID held in a reflector. An inner element is mechanically coupled to the reflector. The inner element is formed with a first mechanical coupling to mate with the reflector, a second mechanical coupling to mate with a circuit board, and an electrical coupling to at least electrically couple one of the leads to the circuit board. A circuit board has an edge mechanically coupled to the inner element and electrically connected to the leads by an electrical coupling on the inner element. A heat sink spans at least one side of the circuit board and forming an EMI shielding. An outer cover encloses the heat sink, circuit board, and inner element and coupled to the assembly of the reflector, HID lamp, inner element, and heat sink with each elements of the assembly clipped together.

Abstract:
A computerized learning method is provided. The method may include receiving learning data for a user from each of a plurality of learning application programs, at a learning service program, storing the learning data in a profile of the user, in non-volatile memory accessible to the learning service program, and displaying a parent graphical user interface configured to include a parent view of learning data associated with the profile. An assessed user learning level and other learning data for a skill from the profile of the user may be displayed on the parent graphical user interface. Recommendations and statistical comparisons of the user with other users may also be displayed on the parent graphical user interface. In this manner, a parent may efficiently monitor a student user's learning activity.

Abstract:
Described is a technology by which an engine parses data based upon modules arranged in a tree-like model structure. Only those modules that meet a condition with respect to the data are invoked for processing the data. Each child module specifies a parent module and specifies a condition for when the parent is to invoke the child module. As a module processes the data, if a child module's specified condition is met, it invokes the corresponding child module, (which in turn may invoke a lower child if its condition is met, and so on). When the data corresponds to protocols, the model facilitates protocol layering. A top level parent may represent one protocol (e.g., TCP), a child beneath may represent a lower-layer protocol (e.g., HTTP), whose children may handle certain types of HTTP commands, or correspond to a signature that the child module is programmed to detect.
A light engine comprising a substantially tubular substrate including base portion with a plurality of slots, a first group of at least two filament LEDs on a first portion of the substantially tubular substrate, and a second group of at least two filament LEDs on a second portion of the substantially tubular substrate. Each of the first and second groups of the at least two filament LEDs being electrically connected through a base electrode to electrode contacts in the slots. The light engine also includes an electrical bus wire present proximate to the end of the substantially tubular substrate that is opposite the end at the base portion of the substantially tubular substrate, the electrical bus wire in contact with each filament LED for each of the first and second groups of at least two filament LEDs.
