Thank you for checking out my profile. I began my experience in mortgage financing career in 1984 when I began working for a major bank in their loan servicing department call center. As time went on, my career slowly evolved into the origination of mortgage loans. I began as a loan processor and eventually into a Direct Endorsed Underwriter by HUD. I saw a great need for someone with knowledge on how to put a file together and could speak honestly to the clients. It was then, I decided to jump in and begin my career as a Loan Officer. Shortly after I started as a Loan Officer, my knowledge and experience wasn't as needed as much as being a sales person. This was basically because all you had to do was fog a mirror with your breath and you received a home loan, so your knowledge of packaging a loan was not really needed. Fast forward to today. Today we are required to pass both a federal and state test, pass a background check, and take 20 hours of education prior to getting our license (unless you work for a bank then you only have to pass the background test and are not required to be licensed only registered). We have to take continuing education and renew our licenses every year. This lead to many loan officers to flee the business due to either the cost to obtain the license or their inability to pass the test. I am currently licensed with both the National Mortgage Licensing System and the Department of Real Estate. I have received certification in the California Home Financing Agency for first time homebuyers, Direct Endorsement by HUD to Underwrite FHA loans, and as a Faciliator with PMI. I love what I do and find it important to continue my education to enable me to provide the best service to my clients and my referral partners. I recently relocated to Northern California, but used to work in an area where first time homebuyers and veterans were the norm. I am well versed on these loan products and while I am able to do other loan programs as well, I find that this is my particular niche. I get 90% of my business from past clients, realtors, and financial planners. I understand the importance of keeping open communication with both my clients and their realtors and escrow companies.
