Abstract:
A method for generating a software development tool, including creating a definition file defining an action to be performed by the software development tool, creating a schema defining characteristics of a plurality of desired inputs for the software development tool, creating a resource file comprising information required by the software development tool at runtime, and generating the software development tool using the definition file, the schema, and the resource file.
Dynamic Selection Or Modification Of Data Management Patterns

International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
Systems and methods are presented that enable the dynamic selection or modification of data management patterns (such as for caching or updating data). A deployment document describes how to manage data used by the application, including which caching patterns (and parameters) and which updating patterns should be used. In this way, a data management pattern can be specified for a particular application (and for a particular data type or data structure within an application), rather than a system-wide configuration option. The deployment document can be modified at any time up until the application starts being executed. A set of business policies and/or technical rules determines whether and how an application's deployment document should be modified. The policies and rules can take into account the application's run-time context, such as the type of transaction, the user involved, and the size and the longevity of the data needed and generated.
Distributed And Replicated Sessions On Computing Grids
Peter Yared - San Francisco CA, US Jeffrey Norton - Pleasanton CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 15/16
US Classification:

Abstract:
Distributed and replicated sessions are implemented in a grid architecture. A session including conversational state is stored at a server in the grid. An incoming request is directed to a server via a load balancing mechanism. When a server receives an incoming request, it either a) retrieves the session from the server that currently holds the state, or b) forwards the request to the server that currently holds the session. Each server maintains the session for the requests that it has serviced until relieved of this responsibility by another server. A server holding a session is relieved of responsibility for the state when another server retrieves the session. In one aspect of the invention, each session is replicated among a number of servers, so as to provide additional redundancy and thereby avoid having any single server as a single point of failure for the session which it maintains.

Abstract:
A tissue cutting probe includes an outer sleeve assembly, an inner sleeve assembly, a burr and an electrode. Each of the inner and outer sleeves has a proximal end, a distal end, and central passage extending therebetween. The inner sleeve assembly is coaxially and rotatably received in the central passage of the outer sleeve assembly, and the burr has a plurality of metal cutting edges carried on a first side of the distal end of the inner sleeve assembly. The electrode is carried a second side of the distal end of the inner sleeve assembly.

Abstract:
An electrosurgical probe can be detachably secured to a handpiece having a motor drive unit and an RF current contact. The electrosurgical probe includes an elongate shaft having a longitudinal axis, a distal dielectric tip, and a proximal hub which is detachably securable to the handpiece. A hook electrode is reciprocatably mounted in the distal dielectric tip, and an RF connector on the hub is couplable to the RF current contact in the handpiece when the hub is secured to the handpiece. A drive mechanism in the hub mechanically couples to the hook electrode, and drive mechanism engages a rotational component in the motor drive unit when the hub is secured to the handpiece. The drive mechanism converts rotational motion from the rotational component into axial reciprocation and transmits the axial reciprocation to the hook electrode to axially displace the hook electrode between a non-extended position and an extended position relative to the dielectric tip.

Abstract:
Arthroscopic cutters are used for resecting tissues, such as meniscal tissues, in meniscectomies or other arthroscopic procedures. The arthroscopic cutters have a shaft assembly with openable-closeable jaws at a working end of the shaft. A handpiece having a motor drive may be detachably coupled to a hub on a hub end of the handpiece. When the shaft is coupled to the handpiece, the motor drive will couple to the jaw structure to open and close the jaw structure to cut meniscal and other tissues.
