Abstract:

A knife holder is disclosed. The knife holder includes a housing and a block portion for holding one or more knives. The block portion is pivotally attached to the housing such that the block portion may be moved between an upright position in which the block portion is substantially within the housing, and an extended position in which the block portion extends from the housing so that knives may be easily withdrawn therefrom. The knife holder may further include a locking mechanism operatively coupled to the knife block, for selectively locking the knife block in the upright position so that knives cannot be easily withdrawn therefrom.

Abstract:

A cutting board for chopping food articles and household items includes a baseboard having a cutting surface for cutting articles thereon. The cutting board further includes a smooth curved sloping surface region at one edge. A surface of the smooth curved sloping surface region has a texture which is different from a texture of the cutting surface. The smooth curved sloping surface region enhances the transfer of chopped articles from the cutting surface to another location.

Abstract:

Two or more digital-input RF amplifiers are configured in parallel such that a combiner combines their respective outputs to generate a relatively large composite RF output signal. A feedback control architecture minimizes the phase differences between the various amplifier outputs so that the outputs can be efficiently combined. The feedback control can measure the return loss for each amplifier to determine how to adjust each amplifier's phase. In some embodiments, the feedback control can also measure the composite RF output signal for use in phase adjustment. In certain implementations, phase adjustment is implemented by an iterative coarse phase-adjustment mode (e. g. , based on either the return loss or the composite output signal) followed by an iterative fine phase-adjustment mode (e. g. , based on the return loss).

A salad spinner for drying food articles and household items includes a transparent bowl and a perforated basket disposed in the bowl. The basket further includes a cylindrical wall connected to a bottom wall of the basket and disposed at its center. Abstract:

A method and related system for determining energy savings that result from improvements made to a structure includes auditing the structure before the improvements are made to create a mockup of a section of the unimproved structure. The structure is then fully improved, and the mockup is disposed near a region of the improved structure that is to be monitored. The mockup may be thermally isolated from the improved region. An energy-related value, such as temperature, is then measured from the mockup and from the improved region of the structure. The mockup provides a baseline value, while the improved region provides a post-improvement value. Utilizing these measured values, the energy savings resulting from the improvement made to the structure can be determined.
