Abstract:A pipe direction and size indicator which may be attached to a pipe inspection camera for use in determining the flow direction and size of a pipe. The pipe direction and size indicator generally includes an adapter member, extension member and indicator member. The adapter member is adapted to be removably attached to a camera. The extension member is removably secured to the adapter member by a threaded connection. The outer end of the extension member includes an indicator member which is attached thereto and allows the indicator member to freely rotate, swivel and move about the extension member. By observing the positioning of the indicator member, which will be freely affected by gravity, an operator of the present invention may determine the directional flow of a pipe being inspected. Further, by accounting for the size of the indicator member, the size of the pipe may also be determined.

Abstract:A method and system for inserting a liner and lining pipes from inside a water main or other larger pipe. The method and system generally includes inserting a string inside the first pipe between a first end and a second end, inserting the string through a liner positioning tool, attaching a first end of the string to the liner, and then pulling the liner into the first pipe with the first string such that the liner extends from the first end to the second end of the pipe. One end of the string may be attached to the liner by a pulling insert, which may be a threaded insert that screws into an end of the liner, and which may further include a fluid passage to allow hot water or other fluid to flow through the insert while the string is connected to it.

The end-seal fitting generally includes a lined host pipe, comprising an end; a female threaded compression end disposed around the end of the lined host pipe; a rubber gasket disposed around the lined host pipe and within the female threaded compression end; a rubber gasket sleeve seated on the edge of the end of the lined host pipe; a stiffener sleeve seated within the rubber gasket sleeve and on the edge of the end of the lined host pipe; a male threaded compression end that is threadably attached to the female threaded compression end; and wherein the attachment between the female threaded compression end and the male threaded compression end keeps the rubber gasket, the rubber gasket sleeve, and the stiffener sleeve in a substantially fixed position.

Abstract:A pipe liner re-flaring system and method for use with a water pipe containing a pipe liner. The pipe liner re-flaring system and method generally include a compression coupling comprising a pair of female compression fittings and a dual ended male compression fitting connected between the female compression fittings. The female compression fittings are adapted to fit over and secure the lined water pipe and a second pipe to be joined with open ends of the pipe liner and the pipe to be joined in direct contact within the male compression fitting. A pipe liner expansion tool and a pipe liner flaring tool are used to expand and re-flare the open end of the pipe liner so that the pipe liner is in contact with an inner wall of the compression coupling to prevent leakage and contact between fluids flowing in the pipes and the material of the pipes and compression coupling.

Abstract:A pipe tool positioning system for efficiently inserting, positioning, and orienting a tool for use within a pipe. The pipe tool positioning system generally includes a sleeve with a receiver opening adapted to receive and removably retain a tool such as a grinder or the like. The sleeve includes radially-offset bladders extending outwardly from its outer surface. Each of the bladders may be individually inflated and/or deflated to aid in positioning of the tool within a pipe. A control unit may be provided with controllers for individually controlling each of the bladders. A camera may also be included adjacent to the sleeve to feed a display included with the control unit. By utilizing the present invention, various tools may efficiently be inserted and positioned for use within a pipe.

Abstract:A conduit treatment system for uniformly apply coatings or treatments to the inner walls of conduits without excessive build-up or creation of blockages. The conduit treatment system generally includes a tube having an absorbent first layer and a non-absorbent second layer. When not inverted, the first layer is the interior of the tube and the second layer is the exterior of the tube. The first layer will be adapted to absorb a treatment which is to be applied within a conduit. By securing a tether between an inversion unit and a closed-off end of the tube, the tube may be wound onto the inversion unit's shaft. The first end of the tube may then be anchored to the inversion unit's connector head to allow for inversion of the tube within a conduit. Upon inversion, the first layer will apply its absorbed treatment to the inner walls of the conduit.

Abstract:A remote pipe lining air monitoring system for remotely monitoring air pressure when curing a pipe liner. The present system generally includes a case storing an internal monitoring system. The case includes a port which is adapted to be fluidly connected in-line between an air compressor and a pipe liner. An internal compartment of the case includes the various components of the monitoring system, including a communications device, illumination device, air pressure monitor, alarm device, and a camera. The illumination device illuminates the internal compartment of the case while the camera is directed at the air pressure monitor. The communications device remotely transmits a video signal of the monitor to a remote device. In the event of pressure change or loss of power, the audio detector will detect activation of the alarm device and cause an alert to be transmitted to a remote device by the communications device.
