Abstract:

A method of producing a truck-like conversion van starts with a conventional, cargo van, and vertically cuts the conventional van only partially along a vertical section of the main frame of the vehicle, just rearwardly of the side doors of the van. Thereafter, a horizontal cut is made starting from the bottom of the vertical cut and progressing rearwardly all the way through the frame or existing floor of the van. Thus a rectangular-shaped slab or cutout of the conventional van is removed. The horizontal plane in which the horizontal cut is made is above the top of the rear tail lights, so that, not only are all of the mechanical parts of the original van retained, but also the same, original tail lights are also retained. After the slab has been cut away and removed, a truck-bed liner-insert of the invention is inserted into the cut-away, rear portion of the van, which rear portion is partially hollow, by which the liner-insert may be received therein. The truck-bed liner-insert is shaped in order to simulate the bed of a conventional pick-up truck, whereby the conversion van may now take the shape of a specialty truck-conversion van having a rear truck-bed for storage and transport.

Abstract:

An elongated lightweight truck-type of van is provided including longitudinally continuous top, opposite side and floor structures enclosing a single van interior. The van interior includes a forward operator's seat, passenger seat structure spaced rearward of the operator's seat and upstanding partition structure disposed immediately rearwardly of the passenger seat structure and extending fully between the top, opposite side and floor structures. The passenger seat structure comprises a bench-type seat defining a storage area therebeneath and the lower marginal edge of the partition structure includes an opening formed therein registered with the storage area. A rearwardly opening housing structure extends through the partition structure opening and into and substantially fully occupies the storage area beneath the passenger seat structure, the partition functioning to substantially isolate the interior portions of the van on either side of the partition structure against the free flow of air therebetween.

A wide-angle mirror attachment for an existing side mirror of a van, pick-up truck, truck, and the like, whereby all blind spots are eliminated when viewing the rear during driving. The wide-angle mirror attachment in a first embodiment is uniquely designed for a specific type of pick-up truck, and, in other embodiments is provided will a more universal-type of mount that allows it to be mounted to most types of trucks and vans.
