Abstract:
A method is disclosed for constructing and managing a database to permit an organization of employee or customers renters to analyze vehicle transaction information. The method comprises the steps of inputting to the database a plurality of files. Each file defines a vehicle rental transaction and includes a parameter indicative of the vehicle rental location in terms of a plurality of geographical divisions of different granularity and a parameter indicative of an attribute of its vehicle rental transaction. The organization is permitted to select the granularity of the geographic division and to identify the vehicle rental transactions originating from the geographic division of selected granularity. The parameter is collected from all of the identified vehicle rental transactions to provide an indication of the collected parameter from all of the rental locations within the geographic divisions of the selected granularity. The geographic divisions include selected of street addresses, cities, states, provinces, countries and combinations of countries. The second parameter may comprise selected of expenditures involved in the rental transaction, the method of payment, the duration of the rental, the date of the rental and the affiliated organization of the renter.
Apparatus And Method For Placement Of Device Along Wall Of A Body Lumen
An apparatus includes: a expandable structure formable into three dimensional shapes including a range of diameters and corresponding lengths; a movable component moveable between a range of positions effecting the range of diameters; and a mechanical linkage disposed between the movable component and the expandable structure. The expandable structure is configured to fit inside a working channel of an endoscope when the expandable structure is collapsed. The mechanical linkage is configured to move the collapsed expandable structure through the working channel to a selected location past a distal end of the endoscope and to increase and decrease a diameter of the expandable structure in response to changes in the position of the movable component when the expandable structure is at the selected location.

Abstract:
A method and system detects a hypoxic condition during an obstruction of an airway of a subject to detect and treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in the subject. The method and system includes an organ stimulating transducer configured for placement in a vicinity of an organ of the subject to stimulate the organ and remove the obstruction when OSA is detected.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus is provided for automatic emergency airway detection. The apparatus includes a frame with a carriage guide configured to be secured around a neck of a subject. A carriage including a sensor is configured to move along the carriage guide. The sensor is configured to measure a value of a parameter indicating a topography of the neck of the subject. A processor includes a memory with instructions to receive first data from the sensor of the value of the parameter as the carriage is moved along the carriage guide and to determine, with the first data, second data indicating a position along the carriage guide corresponding to the cricothyroid region of the neck. The processor subsequently transmits a first signal indicating the second data. A method of using the apparatus is also provided.
Apparatus And Method For Placement Of Device Along Wall Of A Body Lumen
An apparatus () includes: a expandable structure () formable into three dimensional shapes including a range of diameters (D) and corresponding lengths (L); a movable component () moveable between a range of positions () effecting the range of diameters; and a mechanical linkage () disposed between the movable component and the expandable structure. The expandable structure is configured to fit inside a working channel () of an endoscope () when the expandable structure is collapsed. The mechanical linkage is configured to move the collapsed expandable structure through the working channel to a selected location () past a distal end () of the endoscope and to increase and decrease a diameter of the expandable structure in response to changes in the position of the movable component when the expandable structure is at the selected location.

Abstract:
Techniques for emergency apneic oxygenation include a cannula having a longitudinal inner passage with an inner diameter. A distal portion has a first outer diameter greater than the inner diameter, and is made of shape memory material shaped to bend in a first direction along the inner passage. A cannula base has a second outer diameter greater than the first outer diameter. A distance from a distal end of the cannula to a proximal end of the distal portion of the cannula is less than a distance from a surface of a throat of a subject to a distal surface of an airway of the subject. The inner passage is configured to pass a catheter connected at a proximal end to an oxygen source. In various embodiments, the cannula is used with a trocar and, optionally, a system base, or supplied in a kit with a catheter.
