We isolated and characterized a new surface mutant of the hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg). The mutant was isolated from a symptomatic patient with Down's syndrome who was found to be persistently positive for both for HBsAg and anti-HBs Antibody (Ab) with an equally long-lasting anti-HB core (c) IgM Ab.

Abstract:
In the present invention, we described the use of anti-DNA antibody for the detection of prions and diagnosis of Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSE) diseases in animals and humans.
The aim of the present invention is to provide a non-intrusive way to isolate, concentrate and monitor the TSE disease-related pathogenic prion protein. The invention described several peptides and their ability to capture PrPfrom brain homogenate of prion disease infected animal and human. These eight peptides do not capture cellular prion protein from individual with no prion disease.

Abstract:
An address assigning method in a ZigBee network environment formed of a plurality of devices (or nodes), includes: linking the plurality of nodes in a cluster-tree structure; requesting desirable address blocks from a lowest level to a second highest level of the tree ancestor nodes desirable address blocks, respectively; and assigning the desired address blocks to descendents using a top-down procedure.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to combination immunoassays, reagents and kits for simultaneous detection of HCV antigens and anti-HCV antibodies in a sample. The combination immunoassays of the present invention employ a non-ionic detergent that effectively exposes or releases the HCV core antigen from virions in a sample without interfering with the performance of other reagents such as the capture of anti-HCV antibodies by recombinant HCV antigens.
