Abstract:

A multi-point touch pad device having a base with a top surface that defines a plane. A support layer has a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface of the support layer contains a plurality of strain gauges that are disposed on the top surface of the support layer in a matrix configuration. A touch layer is disposed on top of the strain gauge matrix; the touch layer is joined to the top of the strain gauge matrix. Sensor wires connect the strain gauges to a processor which is programmed with an algorithm to measure the location and pressure of simultaneous, multiple touches.

A method of decoding using a log posterior probability ratio L(u), which is a function of forward variable α (. ) and backward variable β (. ). The method comprises dividing the forward variable α (. ) and the backward variable β (. ) into, for example, two segments p and q, where p plus q equal the length of the code word U. A method for reviewing broadcast channels. The method including: capturing at least one broadcast channel at a first site at a reduced quality from its broadcast quality; receiving the at least one reduced quality broadcast channel at a second site, the second site being remote from the first site; and reviewing the at least one reduced quality broadcast channel at the second site. Preferably, the reduced quality broadcast channel is captured on a video server corresponding to an Internet address and is downloaded from the Internet via a wireless transmission to a cellular phone, PDA, or the like.

Abstract:

Disclosed is a method and system for managing television programs and their related web simulcasts. Accordingly, the present invention monitors incoming television signals to detect tag information, which identifies the source of the web simulcasts. Thereafter, a number of enhanced web contents is retrieved for storage in a memory medium for subsequent retrieval. The retrieved web contents are formatted according to predetermined criteria so that the TV viewer can participate selectively in one of the enhanced features linked to a particular television program and is of interest to the viewer.
