Abstract:

A curved glove construction is disclosed wherein the fingers of the glove curve inwardly toward the palm portion of the glove to conform to the configuration of a hand when in a relaxed state. Each finger of the glove has at least one elasticized thread stitching on a palm side thereof to impart curvature to the fingers.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for determining the cooling characteristics of a quenching medium includes a temperature probe having a predetermined thermal mass and conductivity and a temperature sensor affixed to the probe. The probe and sensor are heated to a predetermined temperature and immersed in the quenching medium. The output of the temperature sensor is applied to a microcomputer that has been programmed to monitor the quench rate and to determine whether the quench rate is within predetermined limits at predetermined temperatures.

Abstract:

An automatic control for a multi-zone push type carburizing furnace capable of controlling the flow of either an endothermic gas atmosphere or a nitrogen methanol atmosphere at both high and low flow rates and during normal and suspend carburizing utilizes cascaded multi-stage valving to assure good separation of the atmospheres in adjacent zones. The first stage of the cascaded multi-stage valving controls the total gas flow, and the second stage routes the gas to individual zones of the furnace.

Abstract:

A curved gunn-cut glove construction wherein the fingers of the glove curve inwardly towards the palm portion of the glove to conform to the configuration of a hand when in a relaxed state. The palm piece of the glove including the front portions of the first and fourth fingers are joined to a back piece including the back portion of the first, second, third and fourth fingers as well as to a middle piece including the front portions of the second and third fingers. The back portion of each of the fingers is longer in length than its associated front portion. The base part of each of the second and third front finger portions has a concave edge and is joined to a complementary concave shaped edge of the palm piece. The stitching distance joining the front and back portions of each finger are equalized notwithstanding that the back portion is longer than the front portion. In addition the palm piece of the glove extending between the thumb joint and the finger joints is shorter than the associated back piece of the glove to further enhance the curved effect of the glove and to reduce bunching of the palm of the glove when the glove is in the clasped position.

Abstract:

Clute-cut glove construction is disclosed comprising in part a bottom hand or palm piece including bottom finger pieces, and a separate back piece for each of the bottom finger pieces. Each back piece further comprises a finger portion and a hand portion. Illustratively, each finger portion of each back piece is cut to have a longer longitudinal length than the associated bottom finger piece. Similarly, each finger portion of each back piece is cut to have a wider width than the associated bottom finger piece. Furthermore, the width of each back piece is uniquely cut to vary along the length of the finger and hand portions. During stitching of the back and bottom pieces, each portion of the bottom piece is stretched in order to align the edges of each bottom piece with the edges of its associated back piece. After the stitching operation, when the glove is no longer stretched, the fingers of the glove have the shape of fingers of a hand and curve inward toward the palm so that in use the glove can be moved to a clasping position without crumpling, creasing, or folding of the finger and palm sections of the glove.
