Abstract:

A pivotal joystick base has a base bar () with a pivot end and a base end. The pivot end is pivotal horizontally on a base pivot () positioned on a chair attachment () that is fixable to a motorized chair (). The base end is adapted to support a joystick assembly () for operating the motorized chair. The base pivot includes a pivot lock for locking the joystick base in a pivoted position laterally from the base pivot to prevent contact of the joystick assembly with tables, desks, workstations, walls and other approachable objects () selectively. The base end can include an assembly fastener () for rotating the joystick assembly to a forward position in compensation for rotational positioning of the joystick assembly by lateral pivoting of the joystick base. The joystick base can have a linear mount that includes a slot () for linear distancing of the joystick assembly from the base pivot selectively.
