Lens Coating To Reduce External Fogging Of Scope Lenses
A coated lens for use in a riflescope, telescope, spotting scope, binoculars, or the like is provided. The coating on the lens comprises two layers, an anti-reflective layer adjacent the lens and a hydrophobic layer disposed on the anti-reflective layer. The hydrophobic layer preferably includes an organosilane compound. Advantageously, the coating does not significantly reduce light transmission through the lens.

Abstract:
A GPS device and method for converting display information between a first display mode and a second display mode by negativizing pixels or other image elements, wherein negativizing entails converting relatively larger areas of lighter image elements to darker image elements and converting relatively smaller areas of darker image elements to lighter image elements so as to result in reduced total emission of light.
The problem caused by the time consuming and potentially damaging process of applying a standard masking to the neck of a stringed instrument is solved by providing a strip of polymer material having slots formed therethrough and being complementarily configured to receive the frets while covering at least a portion of the neck to prevent damage to the neck in the fret filing process. Optionally, a non-permanent adhesive is provided on one side of the strip. This invention provides a fast means and method for applying a masking to a stringed instrument neck, that does not require a high level of expertise, while fully protecting the neck during the fret filing process.
Handheld Rangefinder Operable To Determine Hold Over Ballistic Information

Bushnell, Inc. - Overland Park KS
International Classification:
F41G 3/06 G01C 3/04
US Classification:
42142, 356 401
Abstract:
A handheld rangefinder device operable to determine ballistic hold over information is disclosed. The rangefinder device generally includes a range sensor operable to determine a first range to a target, a tilt sensor operable to determine an angle to the target relative to the device, and a computing element, coupled with the range sensor and the tilt sensor, operable to determine a hold over value based on the first range and the determined angle. Such a configuration facilitates accurate firearm and bow use by providing ranges and hold over values without requiring time-consuming and manual user calculations.
Handheld Rangefinder Operable To Determine Hold-Over Ballistic Information
A handheld rangefinder device operable to determine ballistic hold-over information is disclosed. The rangefinder device generally includes a range sensor operable to determine a range to a target, a memory storing a database of ranges and corresponding hold-over values for a default sight-in distance, and a computing element, coupled with the range sensor and the memory. The computing element may calculate an adjusted hold-over value based on the range and an actual sight-in distance. Additionally, a tilt sensor may be included to provide information for calculating an angle-adjusted hold-over value. Such a configuration facilitates accurate firearm use by providing ranges and hold-over values without requiring time-consuming and manual user calculations.

Abstract:
Reticles and scopes using reticles are provided with increased visibility in low-light conditions by illuminating the reticle using the light emitted by a quantity of photoluminescent material. The photoluminescent material may be placed on the reticle itself or emit light which is cast onto the reticle. In some forms, the reticle is entirely coated with the photoluminescent material and in other forms, the photoluminescent material is selectively deposited on a portion of the reticle or an area adjacent the reticle. In other forms, the photoluminescent material is located remote from the reticle and the light emitted from the reticle is transmitted to the reticle. Alternatively, the light may be transmitted directly into a disc of optical material which has an area etched into a reticle pattern whereby the transmitted light escapes from the disc through the etched out portion and provides an illuminated reticle pattern which is visible in low light conditions.
