Abstract:

An IP telephony system allows users of the IP telephony system to register extension telephony devices with the IP telephony system. An extension telephony device is one that is provided with service by a separate telephony service provider. Once an extension telephony device is registered, a user can obtain communications services from the IP telephony system using the extension telephony device. A extension telephony device may be tied to a user's main telephony services account with the IP telephony system such that when the user obtains communications services from the IP telephony system using an extension telephony device, the user will be billed for those communications services through the user's main account.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for call termination routing. The method comprises determining one or more characteristics of an incoming call, mapping the one or more characteristics to a termination policy, and routing the incoming call to a communication device. The incoming call is routed to the communication device in accordance with the mapped termination policy. The determining, mapping, and routing steps are performed by a controller computing device as known in the art. The apparatus comprises means for determining one or more characteristics of an incoming call, means for mapping the one or more characteristics to a termination policy, and means for routing the incoming call to a communication device. The incoming call is routed to the communication device in accordance with the mapped termination policy.

Abstract:

A protection circuit for a DC power supply which protects the power supply nd its load against transient over voltages which may exist at the input to the power supply. The device also includes circuitry for protection of the power supply elements against short circuiting due to load failure. The circuit provides rapid and positive disconnect at the power supply input when a transient overvoltage is impressed, and an effective shut down of the entire power supply in the event of a short-circuit load. The device includes a transient voltage sensor network connected to a temperature stabilized powerload disconnect switch utilizing semi-conductive elements capable of extremely high switching speeds. The circuit switching is sufficiently fast such that the load operation and performance is not noticeably affected in the presence of fast transients impressed at the input to the power supply. Power dissipation in the device is confined to extremely fast turn on and turn off switching losses and saturation losses.

Abstract:

An image stabilization system for telescopic devices uses a method of selecting a suitable, stationary reference image. The user of the instrument views a circular image and a translucent ring concentric to and at an outer edge within the circular image. A translucent circle is superimposed within the width of the concentric ring so as to be able to move along the concentric ring to obtain a reference image. In order to select the reference image, the translucent circle travels, by viewer command, around the concentric ring until a suitable stationary image is observed within the translucent circle. Translation of the reference image within the concentric ring may be reactivated on command as many times as required to get an optimally stationary reference image. Image matching algorithms are then used to determine if the viewing area has moved by keying on and matching the vector movement of the reference image. This image stabilization system is particularly suited to hand-held binoculars or similar equipment.

Abstract:

A IP telephony service allows customers to form user groups. Each user group can include multiple members, each of whom have their own telephony device. Each user group is assigned a unique group identifier, which can be a telephone number. As a result, a single telephony device belonging to a member of a user group can be associated with its own unique telephone number, and the telephone number of the user group. This also means that a member's telephony device could be associated with multiple different billing accounts. The system allows a user to select which of multiple different billing accounts that are associated with his telephony device are to be billed for outgoing communications.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus for routing Application Programming Interface (API) calls from a partner entity to a telephony service provider (TSP) network are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for routing API calls may include receiving a first message including an API call and a partner API key used to authenticate the partner entity on the TSP network to access a partner API layer disposed on the TSP network, extracting the partner API key from the first message, performing an authentication process to authenticate an identity of the partner entity using at least the extracted partner API key, and routing the first message based on results of the authentication process. In some embodiments, the first message is routed to the partner API layer disposed on the TSP network when the identity of the partner entity is authenticated.
