Abstract:

A flow regulating device and specifically an improved roller clamp with a length of conduit exhibiting low compression set properties disposed therein. The clamp includes an elongated box-like body having a fluid inlet at one end with a fluid outlet at the opposite end which are joined by the conduit to provide a flow lumen through the clamp. The roller is captured within a track in the body to selectively compress or release the conduit towards or away from a compression surface disposed at an angular variance to the track. The flow rate is regulated by appropriately positioning the roller. The conduit is captured within the body so as to be unaffected by external pulling or tugging forces.

Abstract:

A footing/foundation form with an integral drain having two substantially parallel spaced apart, serpentuitous walls. Each wall includes a plurality of hollow tubes elevated "to grade" above an excavation bottom by a stake and clip mechanism with gravel filled between the elevated tubes and the excavation bottom such that the elevated tube and gravel both engage concrete poured between the walls. The tubes are common 10-foot PVC tubes with a plurality of holes positioned away from the footing/foundation thereby providing the form with an integral drain. The stakes are preferably pieces of reinforcing bar and the clips, while quite effective, are also inexpensively manufactured.

Abstract:

An adjustable concrete form comprises at least one tube and an adjustable stake having a post and a tube cradle. The tube has at least one drainage aperture providing the form with drainage. The adjustable stake is configured for adjustably supporting the tube in spaced-apart relation to an excavation bottom. The post has at least one slender end to facilitate driving the post partially into the excavation bottom. The tube cradle is configured for releasable engagement with the tube to thereby secure the tube relative to the post and to support the tube in spaced-apart relation to the excavation bottom. The tube cradle is adjustably connected to the post so that adjustment of the post relative to the cradle effectuates adjustment of the tube relative to the excavation bottom.

Abstract:

A self-priming injection site having a stopper that resists dislocation or removal from the injection site. The stopper is positioned within the plastic housing between a top with an open center and an intermediate ledge having an upturned lip. The stopper includes an annular groove that receives the upturned lip of the intermediate ledge, to assist in holding the stopper in compression within the housing. An arm portion allows the intravenous fluid to enter the injection site on a path approximately parallel to and immediately adjacent to the ledge and the bottom of the stopper. A check valve may be positioned within the arm portion.

Abstract:

A parenteral liquid administering device includes an enlarged, liquid-holding burette-type chamber for receiving measured aliquots of liquid from a source. The burette has a bottom flow aperture with a valve controlling flow through the aperture. The valve includes a buoyant float ball and a valve seat positioned about the bottom flow aperture to receive the ball, in the absence of sufficient liquid to float it, in air-tight, sealing relation. Apertured retention means are provided surrounding the ball which are proportioned to permit it to float in spaced relation from the valve seat in the presence of liquid passing through the apertured retention means.
