Abstract:

A method and apparatus for implementing a protocol-neutral middleware interface in a home area network. The method comprises receiving one or more data packets from a client device using a first communication protocol, and decoding the data packets into a set of platform independent data objects. The data packets are decoded into the platform independent data objects by utilizing a metadata mapping located within one or more field classes. The apparatus comprises a frame engine, and one or more field classes. The frame engine receives a data packet in a first communication protocol. The frame engine decodes the data packet into a set of platform independent data objects. The frame engine uses a metadata map contained within the one or more field classes to decode the data packet into the set of platform independent data objects.

Abstract:

A method of gaining access to multiple signals internal to a semiconductor chip while minimizing the number of pins dedicated for diagnostic and testing purposes. A chip designer determines which internal signals would most likely be helpful in troubleshooting and debugging a new chip design. These signals are input to a selector. A configuration register is loaded with information specifying which ones of these signals is to be routed to the output pin(s) so that they can be monitored externally by a logic analyzer in real-time. The selector only routes the currently designated signals to the appropriate output pin(s). Subsequently, a different set of signals can be selectively routed to the output pin(s) in place of the originally chosen signals.

Abstract:

An electro-thermochemical cycling system for producing ammonia is provided that includes a reaction chamber having a metal compound input port, an anode suitable for oxidation in contact with the metal compound and configured for oxidation of hydroxide ions to water and oxygen, a cathode suitable for plating in contact with the metal compound and configured to electrolyze the metal compound to metal, a voltage source connecting the cathode and anode, a nitrogen port to the reaction chamber that combines nitrogen with the electrolyzed metal on the cathode to form a metal-nitrogen compound proximal to the nitrogen input, an atomic hydrogen port to the reaction chamber that combines with the metal-nitrogen compound to form ammonia, and an ammonia output port from the reaction chamber, where a metal compound input port inputs the metal compound to the reaction chamber according to a depletion rate of the metal compound in the reaction chamber.
