Abstract:

A system and method of wireless communication. An activator comprises a first radio that transmits an activation message; a first microprocessor; a first memory component; and a first timer. A remote device comprises a second radio that periodically enters into an activation period of operation and a de-activation period of operation in order to conserve power; a second microprocessor; a second memory component; and a second timer. The first radio transmits the activation message repeatedly and continuously for a period at least equal to the sum of the activation period of operation and the de-activation period of operation of the second radio. At least one complete activation message is transmitted by the activator during every period of time allotted for activation of the second radio. The second radio increases a frequency of activation of the second radio upon receipt of a designated activation message from the first radio.

A method of operating a wireless mesh network comprises generating a pseudorandom sequence element in a transmitting device and a receiving device of the network using information shared by the transmitting and receiving devices. The pseudorandom sequence element is then used to calculate a communication channel/timeslot assignment for communication between the transmitting wireless device and the receiving wireless device.

A system for synchronizing time amongst a plurality of wireless network devices in a wireless network is provided, where a message is exchanged between a transmitting wireless device and a receiving wireless device. Such a system includes: a controller that inserts synchronized time information in the message, prior to transmitting the message, the synchronized time information comprising a current time value and a synchronization time value; and a processor that determines a local elapsed time value since last receiving a last synchronized time.

A method and apparatus for manufacturing an arched metallic profile, in a continuous in-line process. Abstract:

The adapter for use on a compression tool to create a live wire detecting and grounding device comprises a spike engaged to a hydraulically actuated plunger of the tool, the plunger being movable with a jaw defined by a C shaped body of the tool. The spike is conductive, is engaged to a grounding assembly and is used to engage a core of an electrical cable snared within the jaw, causing shorting of a controller for the cable, making the cable currentless. For use with cables of smaller diameter, a reducing sleeve is provided for holding such cables for spike piercing thereof.
