Abstract:

In one embodiment, a method for providing voice and data service includes receiving voice telephone signals and data signals, and transmitting packets in a single protocol link layer over a subscriber line in response to the received telephone signals and the received data signals. The method also includes receiving packets in a single protocol link layer over the subscriber line, and transmitting data signals and voice telephone signals in response to the packets received from the subscriber line. In one embodiment, a network node and a network terminal unit communicate voice telephone signals and data signals by communicating packets in a single protocol link layer over a subscriber line. In another embodiment a first network node communicates voice telephone signals and data signals with a second network node by communicating packets in a single protocol link layer.

Abstract:

A device for metering fluids includes a block provided with a channel connecting a fluid inlet in fluid communication with a fluid outlet. The device also includes a filter assembly within the channel and a fluid meter within the channel at a position downstream from the filter assembly. The device further includes a check valve assembly within the channel at a position downstream from the fluid meter. In addition, the device includes a calibration valve assembly within a channel section of the channel between the fluid outlet and the fluid meter. The calibration valve assembly is operable to move between a first position allowing passage of fluid from the fluid meter towards the fluid outlet and a second position blocking the passage of fluid from the fluid meter towards the fluid outlet.

Abstract:

The coupler tool of the present invention includes a ring having oppositely facing radial flat parallel sides and radial outer edges beveled toward one another. Extending axially outwardly from one of the sides is a handle portion. The handle portion includes a pair of laterally spaced apart arms extending axially outwardly from diametrically opposite areas of one side of the ring and a hand grip extending between the arms in axially spaced relation from such one side.

Abstract:

A protective eyeglasses construction includes a frame portion comprising a lense frame piece and a pair of temple frame pieces, and a lense portion on the lense frame piece. The temple frame pieces are pivotally attached to the lense frame piece about vertical pivot axes, and they are adapted to be pivotally adjusted about horizontal pivot axes and longitudinally adjusted to different lengths. The lense frame piece includes an upper frame section and brow bar which is attached to the lense frame piece so that the central portion of the brow bar is spaced rearwardly from the central portion of the upper frame section and resiliently deflectable toward the upper frame section for cushioning the forehead of a wearer against physical shocks delivered to the lense frame piece.

Abstract:

A closed loop calibrator and process for calibrating a liquid metering device in a closed atmosphere such that the liquid being metered is not exposed to the atmosphere. In one embodiment, a calibrator is disclosed which comprises a body member containing a calibration chamber, and first and second fluid passage within the body member in spaced relationship to the calibration chamber, where when the first fluid passage is connected to a device to be calibrated and the second fluid passage is connected to a container, a closed system is formed having no exposed passages to the atmosphere. Additionally, the first fluid passage is in fluid communication with a lower end of the calibration chamber, and both the first and the second fluid passage are in fluid communication with an upper end of the calibration chamber.
