Abstract:
A side frame for a loudspeaker rigging system has a frame structure mountable to the side of a loudspeaker, and links associated with the frame structure for linking together the corners of the frame structures of vertically adjacent side frames. The links associated with each side frame structure include a pivot link and splay adjustment link, each of which has a top extended end and a base end with a seating edge. Guide channels, which are located in the top corner regions of the frame structure to receive the base ends of a pivot link and splay adjustment link associated with a vertically adjacent side frame, have seating surfaces that conform to the seating edges at the base ends of the pivot and splay adjustment link. When base ends of these links seat in the guide channels, pin holes in the base end of the links self-align with pin holes in the corners of the frame structure for easy insertion locking pins. The extended end of the splay adjustment link further includes at least two, and preferably an array of pin holes which can selectively be matched with one pin hole within a row of pin holes in a bottom corner region of the side frame to permit adjustments of the splay angle over a range of angles.

A gripping structure associated with at least one, and preferably each link of the pivot and splay adjustment links allows a user to easily maneuver a link from its stowed to its deployed position. The extended end of the splay adjustment link includes at least two, and preferably an array of pin holes which can selectively be matched with one pin hole within a row of pin holes in a bottom corner region of the side frame to permit adjustments of the splay angle over a range of angles. Suitably, two rows of pin holes are provided in the top extended end of the splay adjustment link to permit multiple and incrementally small splay angle adjustments.

An integrated rigging system for loudspeakers comprises top and base front and top and base rear rigging structures for mounting to the internal framework of the loudspeaker and for forming the top front, base front, top rear and base rear portions of the loudspeaker's enclosure, and a plurality of links, each link extendable from a link stowing channel in one of the rigging structures into a link receiving slot in the corresponding rigging structure of the enclosure of an abutting loudspeaker for linking the rigging structure of the loudspeaker with the corresponding rigging structure of the enclosure of the abutting loudspeaker.

A loudspeaker rigging system having upwardly extending connecting links comprises splay adjustment and pivot links slidingly disposed in splay adjustment and pivot link stowing channels in a frame structure for the sides of a loudspeaker in a stack of loudspeakers, the splay adjustment and pivot links upwardly movable from stowed to linking positions, in the linking position the splay adjustment and pivot links linkable with locking pin holes in the bottom of the frame structure of a superjacent loudspeaker, the splay adjustment link having a plurality of splay angle slots of various lengths, the splay angle slots aligned with a plurality of splay angle selection pin holes in the frame structure, such that upon insertion of a linking pin in a selected splay angle selection pin hole and corresponding aligned splay angle slot the splay angle link may be raised upward to a selected splay angle.
