Abstract:

According to some embodiments, a method includes establishing a special purpose entity in which a first party has made an equity investment. The method further includes establishing a first sales agreement between the special purpose entity and a second party for the special purpose entity to supply a physical commodity to the second party. The method further includes applying a prepayment amount received under the first sales agreement to acquire a guaranteed investment contract from an insurance company. The method further includes establishing a second sales agreement between the special purpose entity and a supplier for the supplier to supply the physical commodity to the special purpose entity.

Abstract:

Emission of characteristic electromagnetic radiation in the infrared, visible, or UV from excited particles, typically ions, molecules, or neutral atoms, desorbed from solid surfaces by an incident beam of low-momentum probe radiation has been observed. Disclosed is a method for characterizing solid surfaces based on the observed effect, with low-momentum probe radiation consisting of electrons or photons. Further disclosed is a method for controlling manufacturing processes that is also based on the observed effect. The latter method can, for instance, be advantageously applied in integrated circuit-, integrated optics-, and magnetic bubble device manufacture. Specific examples of applications of the method are registering of masks, control of a direct-writing processing beam, end-point detection in etching, and control of a processing beam for laser- or electron-beam annealing or ion implantation.

Abstract:

Apparatus and associated methods relate to constructing a resource and attribute tasking solution to complete a user's objective with resource and attribute characteristics defining the tasked objects, in response to receiving a task definition, and satisfying a task definition constraint. An object includes of a set of resource and attribute dimensions each of which have a set of possible values. A tasking solution is the union of all valid solution vectors in the dimension space. The solution identifies all valid values to present to a user or other agent to make further decisions on further constraining resource and attribute characteristics for a final materializable tasking. In an illustrative example, the objective may be mapping resource supply to task demand. The task demand may be, for example, delivering a database-as-a-service platform configured based on rules generated to satisfy task definition capacity constraints. In some examples, the resource supply may include computing and communication resources configurable to provide access to the platform via a network cloud. Exemplary platforms delivered at different times may be configured with different resources and attributes, based on constructing a tasking solution determined from the available resource supply as a function of time. Various examples may advantageously provide optimized on-demand tasking solutions, configuring a user's available resource supply to complete the user's objective while satisfying task definition constraints.
