Abstract:
The present invention involves a method for IP header compression for Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packets that includes header compression for the outer IP layer that carries IPsec ESP tunnel traffic. The preferred embodiment of the invention involves a method of producing minimal VoIP packet size in a GAN user plane by defining an ESP/UDP/IP profile for ROHC; using the ESP/UDP/IP profile to compress the outer layers carrying IPsec ESP tunnel traffic in the GAN user plane; and using a ROHC RTP/UDP/IP profile between IPsec ESP tunnel endpoints for additional compression.
A telecommunications network with fully flexibly routing is disclosed. The telecommunications network (100) includes switching systems (112, 114) and a service control system (104) that controls at least one of the switching systems. The service control system (104) includes a routing database (150), a plurality of service logic programs and a routing engine (140). The routing engine (140) receives current feature identifying information and invokes at least one of the service logic programs corresponding to the current feature identifying information. The routing engine (140) accesses the routing database (150) to determine next feature identifying information and invokes at least one of the service logic programs corresponding to the next feature identifying information. The telecommunications network may implement a customized routing scheme without the need to design and deploy customized service logic programs.

Abstract:
A method for generating billing information for a call in a telecommunications network is disclosed. In one embodiment, a call initiation stimulus is received at a service switching system (112). The service switching system (112) notifies a service control system (104) of the call initiation stimulus. The service control system (104) generates a first TCAP connect message with a destination routing address portion having a billing information tag and customer billing information. The first TCAP connect message is transmitted to the service switching system (112), which transmits a response message to the service control system (104). The service control system (104) transmits a second TCAP connect message to the service switching system (112) in response to the response message. The service switching system (112) generates a billing record in response to the first TCAP connect message. The method provides for the generation and storing of billing information using standard SS7 signaling, message protocols and call detail record formats, and using any proprietary switch.
Apparatus And Method For Sib-Based Global Title Translation Services
Global title translation services or programs are generated by using service independent building blocks (200). A graphical editor or interface (300) may be used to select and link icon representations (302) of service independent building blocks previously defined to perform discrete functions associated with global title translation. The linked service independent building blocks form a logic program (220) which is then interpreted to generate a C++ equivalent executable program (241).

Abstract:
A method of routing a call includes receiving a number of dialed digits entered by a caller, the dialed digits including a called party number, recognizing the called party number as a subscriber to a fully flexible routing service, obtaining a call plan having at least one predetermined routing feature for the subscriber, process the call according to the at least one predetermined routing feature in the call plan, determining a destination number according to the at least one routing features in the call plan, and routing the call to the destination number.

Abstract:
A method of processing transaction capabilities application part information in an intelligent network includes transmitting transaction capabilities application information from a first node in the intelligent network to a second node in the intelligent network and providing a transaction capabilities application part message definition having a plurality of messages and parameters defining a parameter structure for transaction capabilities application part communication. The method also includes accessing the transaction capabilities application part message definition to determine the parameter structure for the provided transaction capabilities application part information and, in response to the content of the transaction capabilities application part information and the parameter structure, executing an executable algorithm operable to process transaction capabilities application part messages having the parameter structure defined by the transaction capabilities application part definition.

Abstract:
A method of implementing a transaction capabilities application part application protocol for transaction capabilities application part communication includes providing a transaction capabilities application part message definition. The method also includes generating a plurality of service independent building blocks to form a service logic program associated with transaction capabilities application part communication. At least one of the plurality of service independent building blocks associates a plurality of leaf-node parameters with respective variables in the at least one service independent building block. The leaf-node parameters are specified by fully qualified names derived from the transaction capabilities application part message definition. The method also includes creating an executable form of the service independent building blocks for execution.
