Abstract:
A separation assembly for initially keeping a first component separate from a second component includes a generally cylindrical body slidably supported within a container between the first and second components. The body includes a seal structure having an inner seal member that initially seals the first component from the second component. In response to a predetermined operating condition, the inner seal member allows the first component to flow through at least one flow path in the seal structure to mix with the second component. The body further includes a flow distributing member disposed adjacent the seal structure to evenly distribute the first component into the second component. The seal structure and the flow distributing member form a single unit.

Abstract:
In one embodiment, an automatic injector comprises a cartridge adapted to contain a charge of medicament, a seal structure disposed toward a forward end of the cartridge, a plunger normally disposed in a generally rearward end of the cartridge and movable through the cartridge toward a generally forward end thereof in response to an actuating procedure. The movable plunger rearwardly confines the medicament within the cartridge. A needle normally disposed in communication with the medicament container provides a passage in which the medicament is released into an individual's flesh in response to an actuating procedure projecting the needle into the flesh of the individual. The cartridge having an increased friction region so as to slow the motion of the plunger when the forward end of the needle travels through the seal in order to eliminate coring.

Containers for automatic injectors and automatic injectors adapted for those containers are disclosed. The containers include structures adapted to retain and, optionally, cripple the needle of the automatic injector when the automatic injector is inserted into the container after use. Depending on the embodiment, an indicator may be included, either as part of the container or as part of the automatic injector, to indicate whether or not the automatic injector has been used. If the indicator is provided as a part of the automatic injector, a corresponding portion of the container may be formed of a light permeable material. The container may also include features, such as an eyelet over the closed end, designed to cushion the automatic injector. Cushioning and shock absorbing features may also be provided inside the container. A clip is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A resettable training device and method for training a user on the operation of an auto-injector for dispensing a medicament are provided. The user can operate the training device to simulate an auto-injector operation and then reset the training device to repeat the injector operation. The training device includes a housing, a cover member slidably received within the housing between a retracted operative position and an extended inoperative position, a spring member for biasing the cover member into the extended position, an actuation assembly that controls the movement of the cover member from the retracted position to the extended position in response to activation of the trainer by the user, a safety pin, and in some embodiments at least one releasable locking assembly to prevent movement of the cover member from the extended position to the retracted position.
Medicament Container, A Medicament Dispensing Kit For Administering Medication And A Method For Packaging The Same
A medicament container, medicament dispensing kit and packaging process that minimizes exposure of the medication to oxygen to prevent degradation of the medication are disclosed.
