Abstract:

An electrical connector securing arrangement is provided in accordance with this invention for use upon the female socket of an extension cord, to prevent the unintentional separation from the socket of a male plug that has been interfitted therewith. The connector securing arrangement comprises a socket having thereon a pivotally mounted latch member rotatable between extreme positions that are more than 180 degrees apart, and a compatible male plug utilized with the socket. The rotatable latch member has a central locking portion able to releasably engage a portion of the plug when the rotatable latch member is in one position of its rotation, and thus effectively help prevent undesired separation of the socket and plug when interfitted. The central locking portion of the rotatable latch member is able to be stowed unobtrusively on a certain designated part of the body of the socket when the socket and the plug have been spearated, and the rotatable latch member has been moved to an extreme position of its rotation. The stowing of the rotatable latch member in the unobtrusive location on the socket serves very effectively to prevent same from becoming snagged on a nearby object during use.

Abstract:

An electrician's wire bending implement particularly adapted for use with a set of mandrels that are each provided with a drive socket, comprising in combination, an elongate basic wire bending tool, and a graduated array of mandrels that are each equipped with a pair of spaced apart pins. A square drive is provided at one end of the basic tool, and a handle is provided for use on the end of the basic tool remote from the square drive. The handle is to be used on the basic tool when ample torque is to be applied while making lateral bends in heavy gauge wire, using the spaced pins of a selected mandrel that has been mounted on the square drive. Preferably I use a fixed wire forming jaw on the end opposite the square drive, to facilitate creation of fore and aft bends in heavy gauge wire.

Abstract:

A rotary pressure/purge valve for supplying pulsation free oxygen without the use of an interim oxygen storage tank in the nature of a surge tank or accumulator. This valve is comprised of an air chamber section and a center section, with the air chamber section having an inlet port for compressed air, and the center section having a plurality of passages therein, disposed at equal intervals from each other and with respect to a centerline common to both sections. First valves are operatively associated with first passage ends, and serve to control the entry of charging air into two adjacent passages at the same time. Second valves are operatively associated with second ends of the passages and serve to control the exit of purging air from the passages. A shaft on the centerline of the center section serves to operate the first and second valves, with the valves being set out of phases such that when a first end of a given passage is closed to the entry of charging air, the other end of that passage is open to a flow of purging air, and vice versa. At a given moment compressed air can flow in one direction through at least one of the first valves and an associated passage, contemporaneously with purging air flowing in a different direction through a different one of the passages.
