Abstract:

A method of processing video content is provided. In the method, a stream of encrypted video content is received. The encrypted video content stream is decrypted. Storage of an entirety of the decrypted video content for an indefinite period of time is prohibited under a license required to decrypt the encrypted video content. The stream of decrypted video content is processed to generate data representative of at least one aspect of the decrypted video content, wherein storage of the representative data does not violate the license. The representative data is then stored for at least one use other than viewing the entirety of the decrypted video content.

Abstract:

Systems and methods enable three dimensional (3-D) program content viewing in a media environment with different media presentation devices. An exemplary embodiment detects a first synchronization signal transmitted from a first synchronization signal source, wherein the first synchronization signal is associated with first 3-D program content and includes a first signal identifier; detects a second synchronization signal transmitted from a second synchronization signal source, wherein the second synchronization signal is associated with second 3-D program content and includes a second signal identifier; receives a selection of one of the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal; discriminates between the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal based upon the first signal identifier and the second signal identifier; and controls a left lens and a right lens of 3-D shutter glasses in accordance with the selected one of the first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signal.

Systems and methods are operable to test a plurality of devices under test (DUTs) communicatively coupled to one of a plurality of switching elements of a DUT controller. Systems and methods are described herein for altering the presentation of commercials presented based on user input of their likes and dislikes of commercials. A plurality of commercials are received and stored at a media device. A commercial user interface is presented with at least one commercial. A user selection associated with the presented commercial is received via the commercial user interface, wherein the user selection corresponds to one of a user dislike and a user like of the first commercial. An exemplary electronic device receives control information via a wireless signal from a remote control, the control information configured to control operation of a target electronic device, and determines whether the target electronic device is configured to receive Consumer Electronic Control (CEC) format control information or receive non-CEC format control information. Systems and methods provide control of operating states of an electronic device. A first exemplary electronic device detects a consumer electronic control (CEC) communication sent from a second electronic device to a third electronic device, the CEC communication communicated over high-definition multimedia (HDMI) connectors communicatively coupling the first electronic device, the second electronic device and the third electronic device; determines, based on information in the CEC communication, whether the CEC communication is one of a first kind of CEC communication or a second kind of CEC communication; in response to determining that the CEC communication is one of the first kind of CEC communication, transitions the first electronic device to a predefined operating state; and in response to determining that the CEC communication is one of the second kind of CEC communication, maintains the first electronic device in a current operating state.
