Method And Apparatus For Tagging Individuals For Identification And Tracking
Jonathan Briggs CARROLL - Broomfield CO, US Paul Martens - Boulder CO, US
Assignee:
LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION - Bethesda MD
International Classification:
G01J 1/58 F42B 27/00
US Classification:
2504581, 102482, 102502, 2503361
Abstract:
A method and apparatus that are useful for tagging personnel for identification and tracking is disclosed. The apparatus may include a taggant, the taggant being a chemical substance that adheres to at least one of human skin, clothing and equipment of personnel and is undetectable by the human eye, and a taggant deployment mechanism that includes the taggant and is configured to release the taggant upon activation of a triggering mechanism, wherein the taggant deployment mechanism is configured such that when the triggering mechanism is activated, the taggant is released from the taggant deployment mechanism and adheres to at least one of human skin, clothing and equipment of personnel within a radius of a point that the taggant is released, the taggant being detectable only by a taggant detection unit.
Self-Propelled Device For Interpreting Input From A Controller Device
Fabrizio Polo - Boulder CO, US Jonathan Carroll - Boulder CO, US
International Classification:
A63F 13/00
US Classification:
463 31
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for operating a mobile computing device. The method may include a communication link between the mobile computing device and a second computing device. The second computing device may provide a virtual environment for the mobile computing device. Furthermore, the mobile computing device may allow a user to control a self-propelled device, which may be rendered as a virtual entity upon the virtual environment.
Method And Apparatus For Transmission Of Emergency Information From Emergency Personnel
Jonathan Briggs CARROLL - Broomfield CO, US Christopher J. MEYER - Thomton CO, US
Assignee:
LOCKHEED MARTIN CORPORATION - Bethesda MD
International Classification:
H04M 11/04 H04B 7/00 G08B 1/08
US Classification:
4554042, 455 412, 34053913
Abstract:
A method, apparatus and system that transmits emergency information to an emergency response center is disclosed. The system may include an actuator unit located at a first location on an emergency personnel member that may receive an actuation signal from the actuator button, retrieve the emergency personnel member's data file from the memory, and signal the first transmitter to transmit the actuation signal and the emergency personnel member's data file to a communication device located at a second location on the emergency personnel member. The system also includes a communication device that receives position information concerning the emergency personnel member from the positional information receiver, calculates the emergency personnel member's position based on the received position information, and sends a signal to the second transmitter to transmit the calculated emergency personnel member's position, the emergency personnel member's data file, and an actuation signal notification to the emergency response center.

Abstract:
A system and methods for assessing an environment are disclosed. A method includes causing a robot to transmit data to first and second user devices, causing the robot to execute a first action, and, responsive to a second instruction, causing the robot to execute a second action. At least one user device is outside the environment of the robot. At least one action includes recording a video of at least a portion of the environment, displaying the video in real time on both user devices, and storing the video on a cloud-based network. The other action includes determining a first physical location of the robot, determining a desired second physical location of the robot, and propelling the robot from the first location to the second location. Determining the desired second location is responsive to detecting a touch on a touchscreen video feed displaying the video in real time.

SPHERO, INC. - Boulder CO
International Classification:
G05D 1/02 G05D 1/00 B25J 9/16
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to magnetic robot calibration. As an example, a robot may engage in a calibration process based at least in part on data samples from a magnetometer. The robot may use the data samples to determine a reference point, with which the robot may process movement instructions accordingly. In some examples, a user device may be used to control the robot, and may comprise a magnetometer for determining a reference point similar to that of the robot. As a result, the user device may communicate with the robot using movement instructions that are based on the reference point determined at the user device, such that the robot may perform the movement instructions using the reference point determined at the robot.

Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and method for providing a managed user experience for consumer products. A base station may detect a tag associated with a consumer product, which may be used to retrieve a managed user experience cached locally, or stored at a remote device associated with an experience provider. The managed user experience may include gameplay, content, and/or instructions to perform specified functionality. In an example, content and/or instructions may be transmitted to the consumer product and/or one or more intermediary devices in order to generate the managed user experience. In some examples, information may be received from the consumer product by way of the tag and used to provide the managed user experience. In other examples, the tag may be retrieve and/or provide aspects of a managed user experience from an experience provider without use of the base station or intermediary device.
