Abstract:

A three dimensional globe utilizing a transparent spherical globe having geographical areas outlined thereon with fluorescent paint combined with an external black light to illuminate and render uniquely observable all of the outline of the geographical areas. A clock with spherical members mounted at the ends of the hands thereon are associated with the globe to simulate the movement of planets in relation to the globe with the balls being relatively small and also fluorescent colored for effective illumination by the black light. The globe provides a unique, attractive and informative globe utilizing high technology and effective structure for movement of the globe in a rotational manner about a substantially vertical axis.

Abstract:

It was discovered that, for individuals with certain types of mutations, clinical outcomes or phenotypes can be very accurately predicted. For example, for an individual with autism harboring a de novo LGD mutation, the patient’s IQ, behavioral phenotypes, and motor/movement phenotypes, and the severity of autism can be predicted. For these LGD mutations, due to a mRNA surveillance mechanism called NMD (nonsense-mediated decay), it was discovered that clinical outcomes and phenotypes are strongly correlated with the expression intensity of the exon harboring the mutation. A method/model was developed, which is called PDS (phenotype dosage sensitivity), to predict phenotypes based on this observation, and the model is able to predict phenotypes at a much higher level of accuracy not previously possible. This disclosure is the first to link LGD mutations and clinical phenotypes in this manner.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, a computing device accesses a social graph comprising nodes and edges connecting the nodes. Each of the edges between two of the nodes represents a single degree of separation between them. The nodes include user nodes corresponding to users of an online social network, and concept nodes corresponding to places. A particular place corresponds to a particular concept node, and corresponds to an associated location and a perimeter. A number of check-ins are received, each check-in being associated with the particular place and having a geographic location. Each check-in corresponds to an edge of the social graph between a user node and the particular concept node. Based on the received check-ins the computing device determines whether to update the associated location and the perimeter.

In another embodiment, a best page may be determined for a user based on information about the user. In yet another embodiment, social context information may be provided on a page associated with a metapage for a viewing user that shows expressions of interest by other users on the page and other pages associated with the metapage.
