Abstract:

A closure for a container adapted to house a beverage therein, the closure comprising: (a) a cap having a mating feature adapted to interface with a corresponding feature of a container to secure the cap thereto, the cap also including an orifice therethrough and a channel therewithin, the channel being adapted to receive a sliding member therein; and (b) a flexible conduit adapted to be in fluid communication with a beverage within the container, wherein the sliding member is operative to position the flexible conduit between an open position and a closed position, where the open position enables fluid communication between a drinking end and an interior of the container.

Abstract:

A pressure regulation device for selectively regulating the flow of a fluid between a lower pressure sink of a breast pump and a higher pressure source, the pressure regulation device comprising: (a) a valve body oriented with respect to a valve seat to selectively provide fluid communication between a lower pressure sink of a breast pump and a higher pressure source; and (b) an actuator operatively coupled to at least one of the valve body and the valve seat to manipulate the orientation of the valve seat with respect to the valve body, where the actuator is repositionable to selectively manipulate a volumetric flow of fluid between the higher pressure source and the lower pressure sink by varying the proximity of the valve seat with respect to the valve body.

Abstract:

A child entertainment and learning device may comprise a tray-shaped insert having interactive buttons placed thereon for use by a child. Program selection buttons may be provided and may be in the shape of letters, numbers, shapes, animals, musical instruments, etc. to allow a user thereof to select a desired program. A speaker may be provided for use to provide audible prompts to a user thereof. A user response button may be provided for use in responding to said prompts as set forth by a selected program. The user response button may be opaque or transparent and may include lights visible in or below the button for displaying a desired indicia correlating with the selected program. The programs and speaker may be controlled by electronic control circuit. Connectors may be provided to releasably secure the child entertainment and learning device to trays of different sizes or shapes or other flat surfaces.

Abstract:

A breast pump assembly comprising: (a) a breast milk caddy including a frame having an arm repositionable with respect to a handle between a folded position and an extended position, and a milk extraction device repositionably mounted to the arm of the frame, the milk extraction device including complementary top and bottom components removably mounted to one another, the bottom component including a breast milk extraction vessel, and the top component including a breast cone having an inlet for receiving a woman's breast and an outlet in communication with the extraction vessel for storing extracted milk, the top component also including a conduit for delivering suction to the inlet of the breast cone; (b) a breast pump including a fluid pump including an inlet and an outlet, where the fluid pump generates suction at the inlet during operation of the fluid pump, and a control system in electrical communication with the fluid pump for controlling operation of the fluid pump, the control system including a soft start logic to gradually increase the suction generated by the fluid pump; and (c) tubing mounted in fluid communication with the fluid pump and the milk extraction device for delivering the generated suction from the fluid pump and to the conduit of the milk extraction device.
