Jonathan Trappe, 39, was forced to touch ground in Newfoundland, Canada, about 6:30 p.m. Thursday after a technical malfunction with his makeshift aircraft just 350 miles into his planned 2,500-mile journey.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police says Jonathan Trappe reported that he was having trouble controlling his balloons before landing Thursday evening just south of York Harbor. He touched down safely and required no medical attention.
