Abstract:

The present disclosure provides applicators adapted to or configured to deliver a product therefrom. The applicators can be particularly designed for delivery to certain body parts of the human body, such as to the vaginal area. The applicator can comprise a housing formed of a substantially continuous wall extending along a longitudinal housing axis between a base end and an application end, the substantially continuous wall defining: a base segment extending from the base end toward the applicator end; a delivery segment extending from the applicator end toward the base end; and a compression segment interconnecting the base segment and the delivery segment. The housing can define a substantially hollow interior configured for retaining a product for delivery through the delivery segment.

Abstract:

The present disclosure provides packaged articles that can provide improved ease of access to the articles. More particularly, such packaged articles can comprise a plurality of multilayer films with a product contained therebetween. The multilayer films can be sealingly engaged one to another substantially only at a perimeter band that defines a closed, interior compartment in which the product is contained and which defines a tab section that is exterior to the perimeter band. At least a section of the perimeter band proximate to the tab section can be configured as a peel-apart seal such that the interior compartment containing the product is accessible by at least partially peeling apart the multilayer films. The disclosure further provides methods of packaging a product, such as a condom, and methods for improving ease of access to a packaged article, such as a condom.

A system for filling a chambered package includes a carrying mechanism travelling in a machine direction and having chambered recesses defined about a surface thereof, a first dispensing nozzle configured to dispense a quantity of a medium onto the surface of the carrying mechanism for direction into the chambered recesses in a first group of the chambered recesses defined about the surface of the carrying mechanism, and a first wiper blade disposed along the carrying mechanism in the machine direction after the first dispensing nozzle, the first wiper blade defining a curvilinear surface having crests configured to direct the quantity of the medium into the chambered recesses in the first group of the chambered recesses and troughs configured to direct the quantity of the medium away from entering the chambered recesses in the second group of the chambered recesses.

A system and a related method for forming a multi-chamber package are disclosed. The system includes a single web of a film material extending in a machine direction and defining a plurality of lateral lanes extending contiguously in a cross-machine direction, orthogonal to the machine direction. An apparatus for filling a chambered package can include a dispensing nozzle angled relative to a perpendicular of a machine direction of a carrying mechanism, the dispensing nozzle being disposed adjacent to the carrying mechanism having one or more chambered recess defined about a surface thereof, the dispensing nozzle being configured to dispense a quantity of the medium into the one or more chambered recess defined about the surface of the carrying mechanism The apparatus includes a housing and at least one wiping material arranged to define an angle having a vertex toward the machine direction about a bottom surface of the housing, the angle of the at least one wiping material being configured to direct any of the quantity of the medium dispensed out of the second end of the dispensing nozzle, but not directed into the one or more chambered recess, into the one or more chambered recess.
