Abstract:

A method for implementing a Media Independent Handover (MIH) service between one or more of a heterogeneous and a non-heterogeneous network comprises providing an MIH beacon from one or more of a network (Net) or a mobile node (MN); acknowledging a receipt of the MIH beacon by another of the network (Net) or the mobile node; and facilitating handover (HO) services in response to an acknowledged receipt, and further in response to an MIH beacon message subsequently provided from one or more of the network (Net) or the mobile node. In one embodiment, the MIH beacon comprises at least an MIH-Capability (MIHC) flag, the MIHC flag having one of a first state or a second state.

Abstract:

An uplink access method in a mobile subscriber station of a broadband wireless access communication system prioritizes uplink bandwidth allocation according to QoS types of requested service. A scheduling priority is assigned to each type of service flow to guarantee the highest data rate for the high QoS service flows, and then the uplink data grants are scheduled based on this assigned priority. By assigning a priority to each connection based on the service type flow, the higher data rate connections will always have the opportunity to transmit uplink data to fulfill the high data rate QoS requirement, and fragmentation will occur only on the last lowest priority Connection ID (CID) based on the size of the last remaining data grant. The uplink access method further prevents the high priority service from stealing bandwidth from data grants intended for lower priority services by identifying when the data grant is mismatched from the amount requested by the lower level services.

Abstract:

The present invention discloses a method of synthesizing a novel form of cellulose I as well as methods of synthesizing a novel form of cellulose I in vitro. One method comprises contacting an activated saccharide substrate with an endoglucanase in an appropriate organic solvent/buffer ratio. The invention also encompasses a partially purified endoglucanase and a method of synthesizing cellooligosaccharides. A second method comprises contacting a nucleotide sugar with a purified glycosyl transferase in an appropriate buffer medium to insure polymerization and crystallization of parallel glucan chains from the enzyme/micelle complex to form cellulose I.

Abstract:

An information handling system may use algorithms implemented in hardware or software for allocating system resources to prioritize applications based on user interaction with the information handling system. An information handling system may optimize the power consumption in an information handling system or electronic device by adjusting performance parameters that redirect available thermal and power headroom to applications that the user is interacting with. The information handling system may monitor user interaction with windows rendered by the information handling system, whether on an internal display or external display. For example, a refresh rate of a monitor displaying a rendered window with less interaction than other rendered windows may be reduced to reduce power consumption related to operation of that monitor. Additional thermal headroom of the information handling system may be used to improve responsiveness of rendered windows with which the user is interacting.

A portable information handling system organic light emitting diode (OLED) display manages power consumption by dividing the display into plural zones of contiguous pixels and presenting visual images in a first zone at a full pixel density and in a second pixel density. For example, a full pixel density presents visual images with all pixels at a display setting and a partial pixel density presents visual images with at least some pixels at the display setting and at least some pixels at a reduced power setting, such as off or a reduced illumination.
