Abstract:

A calculator and exam notification timer device integrated into one housing. A plurality of numeral keys (0-9) and function keys and a display are disposed the housing. A first processing section performs calculation functions based on input from the numeral keys and the function keys and displays the result on the display. A second processing section performs a time keeping function based on values programmed by user via the numeral keys and function keys, and displays a total elapsed or remaining time, a current exam problem, and an elapsed or remaining time for the current exam problem on the display. A switch within the calculator forwards the signal from the numeral keys to either the first or second processing section based on a switching state which is controlled by a switch key on the housing or one of the function keys.

Abstract:

A wrist watch-type silent alarm and exam notification timer device includes a vibrator adapted to create a silent vibrating sensation on the skin of the user/wearer, and control circuitry for repeatedly generating silent alarm signals at user-defined time intervals for a user-defined number of times in a programmable manner. The vibrator is disposed inside the timer housing directly on an area of the bottom panel of the housing, and oriented to generate a silent vibration in that area in a direction perpendicular to the bottom panel. The timer device is useful during exam taking to allow the user to keep track of his progress through the exam. Displays are provided to display a total elapsed time of the exam, a lapsed time of the current exam problem, and the number for the current exam problem. Control keys are provided for the user to program the timer.

Abstract:

A temperature and humidity alerting system (THAS) that is designed to alert a medical practitioner or a caregiver when a clothed, diapered or bedridden person has inadvertently urinated or defecated. The THAS is comprised of a data transmitting unit and a data receiving unit. The data transmitting unit utilizes a temperature indicating probe and a humidity indicating probe that each produce a signal when their threshold temperature and/or humidity levels are exceeded. The resulting signal is applied to a data receiving unit where the signal is further processed by a microprocessor that produces a data output signal and a humidity output signal that are applied to an alpha-numeric unit where the data is displayed.
