A buoyant mattress device for a snorkeler. An elongated buoyant mattress is provided for buoyantly supporting the body weight of a snorkeler positioned thereatop in a prone position. A viewing hole formed transversely entirely through the mattress and entirely open therethrough is adapted in size and position adjacent to one end of said mattress for receiving a face mask and snorkel worn by the snorkeler while the snorkeler is supported in water in the prone position atop the mattress. The viewing hole is unobstructed to water entering therein through the open lower end thereof which, in combination with the thickness and buoyancy of the mattress places the viewing lens of the face mask below the surface of the water within the hole, providing the snorkeler with an unobstructed underwater view through the face mask.
Method For Reorganizing The Data On A Raid-4 Or Raid-5 Array In The Absence Of One Disk
In a storage system having a plurality of disks arranged in a RAID array with one of the disks failed, a method of reorganizing the data on the RAID array at the time of failure to prevent both a decrease in performance of the array and reliability of the data and an increase in the cost of operation. Data from the failed disk is regenerated one strip at a time and written onto the original parity chunk for the strip. The resulting fully folded array has the characteristics of a RAID level 0 array. When a replacement disk is inserted into the array the process is reversed to bring the fully folded array back to a fully redundant condition.
A bullet starter for loading a conical hollow-point bullet into a barrel of a muzzle loading firearm. The starter comprises a handle and an impact member, with the impact member comprising an outwardly protruding starter pin in communication with the handle. The starter pin is insertable into a hollow point of a hollow-point bullet, and has a diameter less than the diameter of the hollow point and a depth greater than the depth of the hollow point. These diameter and depth characteristics assure that only the floor of the hollow point has significant impact contact from the impact member when impact is applied to force the bullet into the barrel, and that the nose of the hollow-point bullet is substantially untouched by the impact member and therefore not deformed. The starter pin can be releasably retained and therefore interchangeable with differently-sized pins. The handle also can have extending therefrom a driver rod having a driver pin disposed at the end thereof and sized the same as the starter pin for insertion into the hollow point of a hollow-point bullet for moving the bullet deeper into the barrel.
