Abstract:

An electrical panel assembly comprised of individual electrical panel modules. The electrical panel modules comprise a first receptacle comprising transmitting electrical contacts to interface with a first connector comprising receiving electrical contacts and a first rotation ring for facilitating contact between the transmitting electrical contacts and the receiving electrical contacts, where the first rotation ring rotates between an open position permitting connection or disconnection of the first connector from the receptacle and a closed position preventing connection or disconnection of the first connector from the first receptacle. The first electrical panel module interacts with a second electrical panel module in a manner that the absence of the first connector in the first receptacle prevents the second electrical panel module from accepting a second connector.

Abstract:

A connector for a high amperage, AC or DC connection comprises a plug and a receptacle configured to a securely mate and lock with each other. Connector receptacles comprise a locking mechanism having a bottom latch bracket having two slots, a top latch bracket having arcuate grooves and being pivotally coupled to the bottom latch bracket, and a latching rod configured to engage a plug and having guide pins extending through the slots and arcuate grooves. When the top latch bracket is in an unlocked position, the distance between the guide pins is at a maximum. Upon turning the top latch bracket, the guide pins move cooperatively within the arcuate grooves and the distance between the guide pins is minimized and the latching rod securely engages the plug.

Abstract:

A connector for high amperage, AC or DC connection includes a plug and a receptacle configured to securely mate and lock with each other. Connector receptacles include a locking mechanism having a sleeve unit having a plurality of openings configured to receive a plurality of alignment members, a control unit in communication with the alignment members, and at least one extension member coupling the sleeve unit to the control unit. The control unit is configured to bias the alignment members to engage a groove in a plug in a locked position. Upon rotation of the control unit, the control unit engages the sleeve unit and allows the alignment members to freely move, thus allowing a user to connect or disconnect the plug from the receptacle.
