Abstract:

Compositions comprising a base fluid and a monoester copolymer of styrene and maleic anhydride are disclosed. The compositions can further comprise an alkyl orthophosphate ester. The base fluid can be an aqueous or organic base fluid. The monoester copolymer is at least partially soluble or dispersible in the base fluid. Preferably, the composition may further include a cross-linking agent capable of increasing the viscosity of the composition, such as aluminum isopropoxide or other metal source compounds. The composition can form a gel which is stable at a temperature of about 250Â F. (121Â C. ) or higher. Some gels of the present invention exhibit stability up to about 300Â F. (149Â C. ) to 350Â F. (177Â C.

Abstract:

A cryoelectric power system for use in application(s) in which a conventional internal combustion engine is used. The power system includes a source of cryogenic fuel, a cryoelectric boiler for vaporizing the cryogenic fuel, a heat exchanger for warming the vapor, and two or more turboalternators, each turboalternator generating electricity. This power system may be utilized either as the primary power source or as secondary pending the needs of the application or location of the power requirement. The Seebeck and Ettingshausen effects may be utilized in the thermoelectric boiler, thereby producing additional electricity, and the electricity produced by the cryoelectric boiler and the turboalternators is output to appropriate controls and circuitry where it may be summed and used to power an electric power system. Superconductive material may be used in the manufacture of the turboalternators and magnetic coil for additional system enhancement. The resulting, highly efficient, power system is used to advantage in, for instance, for powering a non-polluting automobile or as a prime mover for providing a wide array of commercial electrical services or for driving a wide variety of industrial electrical systems.

Abstract:

A method of reducing the cost and environmental impact of chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing is to use a proppant that is coated with at least two chemicals, where each of those chemicals are useful in treating a well. By coating at least two chemicals onto the proppant the amounts of chemicals required to treat a well are reduced by delivering the chemicals to only the areas that require treatment. Additionally mixing issues are avoided as only a single proppant or substrate is used in the well.
