Abstract:

Compounds of formula (I), methods of making and method of using (including optical compositions and devices) are provided. The compounds are where Ais selected from O and S; Ais selected from —OH, —SH, and —OR; Rand Rcan be the same or different, can be branched or unbranched, can be linked to form cyclic or extended structures, and are selected from halogenated alkyl, halogenated aryl, halogenated cyclic alkyl, halogenated arylalkyl, halogenated alkylaryl, halogenated polyether, halogenated thioether, halogenated ether thioether, halogenated aklyl amino groups, halogenated alkylene, halogenated silylene, halogenated siloxanes, halogenated silazanes, halogenated olefins, perfluorinated Calkyl, perfuorinated Calkyl Calkyl ethers, n-CF, n-CF, n-CF, n-CF, (CF)CF(CF), n-CF, n-CF, (CF)CF(CF), and (CF)CFO(CF); and Rcan be branched or unbranched and is selected from Calkyl, Caryl, Calkylaryl, and Carylalkyl. Abstract:

Systems, methods, and media for generating and sending indications of interest in trading systems are provided. In some embodiments, systems for generating and sending indications of interest in trading systems are provided, the systems comprising: at least one hardware processor that: determines whether an order is blocked from inclusion in an indication of interest; determines whether the order is marketable; generates the indication of interest so that it includes at least a portion of the order when the order is determined to not be blocked and the order is marketable; determines whether the indication of interest is blocked from being sent to a destination; and sends the indication of interest to the destination when the indication of interest is determined to not be blocked from being sent to the destination.

Abstract:

A "one-pot" process for the palladium catalyzed coupling of a diazonium salt with an olefinic bond, in the aqueous medium in which the diazonium salt is made, by employing a carboxylic acid as a solvent. Arylacrylic acids and their esters, e. g. the cinnamates, can be produced at low catalyst concentration without first isolating the diazonium salt. The process is applied to the synthesis of 2-ethylhexyl p-methoxycinnamate.
