Abstract:

The pipe shoe includes a generally horizontal base plate a left-side support plate a right-side support plate a curved lower plate and a curved upper plate An attachment mechanism for securing the lower end of the upper plate to the respective support plate includes a bolt which passes through a hole in a lower end of the upper plate and a port in the respective support plate. When the bolt is tightened, the curved upper plate is pulled toward the base plate to place the bolt in both tension and shear. Each support plate is preferably angled with respect to a plane perpendicular to a plane of the base plate and away from the centerline of the pipe.

Abstract:

A jacketed pipe flange for connection to an end of an inner pipe and to an end of a jacketed outer pipe surrounding the inner pipe includes a central throughport for mating with the inner pipe. The first annular sealing surface surrounds a central throughport for sealing fluid within the inner pipe, a second annular sealing surface surrounds the first sealing surface, and a third annular sealing surface surrounds the second annular sealing surface for sealing fluid in the jacketed outer pipe from the exterior of the flange. An annular gap separates the first and second sealing surfaces, and a test port fluidly connects the annular gap with an exterior port in the flange. A plurality of axially extending throughports in the flange between the second and third sealing surfaces pass fluid through the jacketed outer pipe and the flange to downstream components.

Abstract:

An improved pipe shoe is provided for permanently supporting a length of insulated pipe above a pipe rack of the type used in industrial facilities. The pipe shoe includes a base member for sliding engagement with the pipe rack, a first clamp member including a spacer portion, a first clamp portion, and a through slot. A second clamp member includes a second clamp portion and a projecting plate, such that the plate can be fitted within the through slot and the second clamp member rotated to its closed position. A securing member retains the plate adjacent the spacer portion, so that adjacent edges of elongate insulation members may be positioned on opposing sides of the spacer portion and the adjacent plate. The insulation thus retains its generally sleeve-like configuration about the pipe and the pipe shoe, thereby decreasing the time required to install the insulation. The pipe shoe is configured such that a lowermost portion of the pipe is spaced out of engagement with the first and second clamp members when in the closed position, with the gap between the pipe and the first and second clamp members providing a through path for receiving a heating line.
