Abstract:

The present invention provides to a method and apparatus for minimizing or preventing negative current build up in DC-DC converters with synchronous rectification. The method turns the first synchronous rectifier off when the negative current is present in the first secondary winding and the first synchronous rectifier is on, and turns the second synchronous rectifier off when the negative current is present in the second secondary winding and the second synchronous rectifier is on.

Abstract:

A method of reducing mosquito noise in a digital image. As mosquito noise is often most plainly visible in the “background” of an image (e. g. , the sky or some other backdrop to objects within an image), the luminance value of the background of the image is first determined. Then, the luminances of the pixels of the image are compared against this “background luminance” to determine which should be considered as part of this background. The luminances of these background pixels are then averaged so as to smooth out the representation of the background, and reduce mosquito noise.

Abstract:

A method and system is provided for reducing mosquito noise in a digital image. The method and system receives an input luminance value for a first pixel in the digital image, and determines whether the first pixel is in relative close proximity to an object appearing in the digital image, based on a comparison of the variation between the input luminance value for the first pixel and luminance values of a first plurality of neighboring pixels. If the first pixel is in relative close proximity to an object, the method performs an average filtering of the input luminance value for the first pixel, based on the luminance values of a second plurality of neighboring pixels, to provide a filtered luminance value for the first pixel.

Abstract:

Systems and methods of processing pixel information associated with video image deinterlacing are disclosed. In one exemplary implementation, the method may include performing an edge adaptive interpolation process on a present field so as to determine whether an edge passes through a pixel, wherein the edge adaptive interpolation process provides edge data including a first intensity estimate for the pixel, receiving motion data associated with motion compensation processing, including an estimated motion vector for at least one pixel proximate to the pixel in at least one reference field, determining a second intensity estimate for the pixel as a function of the edge data and the motion data, and performing an intensity-calculation procedure, wherein an interpolated intensity of the pixel is calculated as a function of the first intensity estimate and the second intensity estimate.

Abstract:

Waypoints for a steerable medical device are stored as the steerable medical device is moved within a patient. The stored waypoints are an ordered sequence of locations. The ordered sequence of locations defines a safe path within the patient for moving an articulatable portion of the steerable medical device. Abstract:

Human TNF-gamma-alpha and TNF-gamma-beta polypeptides and DNA (RNA) encoding such polypeptides and a procedure for producing such polypeptides by recombinant techniques is disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for utilizing such polypeptides to inhibit cellular growth, for example in a tumor or cancer, for facilitating wound-healing, to provide resistance against infection, induce inflammatory acitvities, and stimulating the growth of certain cell types to treat diseases, for example restenosis. Also disclosed are diagnostic methods for detecting a mutation in the TNF-gamma-alpha and TNF-gamma-beta nucleic acid sequences or overexperession of the TNF-gamma-alpha and TNF-gamma-beta polypeptides. Antagonists against such polypeptides and their use as a therapeutic to treat cachexia, septic shock, cerebral malaria, inflammation, arthritis and graft-rejection are also disclosed.
