Abstract:
A power spectrum analysis of the harmonic content of a voiced sound signal is conducted in real time by phase-lock-loop tracking of the fundamental frequency, f. sub. o, of the signal and successive harmonics h. sub. l through h. sub. n of the fundamental frequency, measuring the quadrature power and phase of each frequency tracked, differentiating the power measurements of the harmonics in adjacent pairs and analyzing successive differentials to determine peak power points in the power spectrum for display or use in analysis of voiced sound, such as for voice recognition.

Abstract:
This document describes techniques and systems for radar-based gesture-recognition with context-sensitive gating and other context-sensitive controls. Sensor data from a proximity sensor and/or a movement sensor produces a context of a user equipment. The techniques and systems enable the user equipment to recognize contexts when a radar system can be unreliable and should not be used for gesture-recognition, enabling the user equipment to automatically disable or “gate” the output from the radar system according to context. The user equipment prevents the radar system from transitioning to a high-power state to perform gesture-recognition in contexts where radar data detected by the radar system is likely due to unintentional input. By so doing, the techniques conserve power, improve accuracy, or reduce latency relative to many common techniques and systems for radar-based gesture-recognition.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, that automate selection of configuration data. One of the methods includes obtaining meal configuration data relating to feeding livestock in an aquaculture environment that includes one or more feeding parameters relating to feeding farmed livestock and one or more criteria. Each of the one or more criteria can be associated with the one or more feeding parameters. Sensor data can be obtained that describes at least one property of the aquaculture environment. A selected set of feeding parameters can be selected using the obtained sensor data and the obtained feeding parameters. The selected set of feeding parameters can be provided to a feeding control subsystem.

Abstract:
Systems and techniques are provided for presence and directional motion detection. Signals may be received from a sensor positioned in a structure. An indication of directional motion may be generated based on the signals from the sensor. The indication of directional motion may be generated without using signals from additional sensors. A control signal for a device in the structure may be generated in response to the indication of directional motion. The control signal may be sent to the device in the structure to be implemented by the device.

Abstract:
A method includes receiving a voice input at an electronic device. An ambiguity of the voice input is determined. The ambiguity is resolved based on contextual data. The contextual data includes at least one of: an image, a non-voice input comprising a gesture, a pointer of a pointing device, a touch, or a combination thereof.
A portable sensor device is provided. The portable sensor device may at least include a first angular rate sensor, a second angular rate sensor, and a gyroscope. The first angular rate sensor may include two or more accelerometers, whereas the second angular rate sensor may include an accelerometer and a magnetometer. In some instances, the portable sensor device may determine when to use the first angular rate sensor, when to use the second angular rate sensor, and when to use the gyroscope to obtain angular rate measurements indicative of angular motion of the portable sensor device. Further, the portable sensor device may determine one or more angular motion parameters describing angular motion of the portable sensor device using data from the first angular rate sensor, the second angular rate sensor, the gyroscope, or combinations of the first angular rate sensor, the second angular rate sensor, and/or the gyroscope.

Abstract:
A hybrid angular rate system is provided. In one aspect, the hybrid angular rate system at least includes two different types of angular rate sensors. The hybrid angular rate system may determine when to use the first angular rate sensor and when to use the second angular rate sensor to obtain angular rate measurements indicative of angular motion of the portable sensor device. Further, the hybrid angular rate system may determine one or more angular motion parameters describing angular motion of the portable sensor device using data from the first angular rate sensor, the second angular rate sensor, or the first angular rate sensor and the second angular rate sensor based on the determination.
