Abstract:

Described herein is a data collection and warehousing system that collects log files from a plurality of servers, and that transforms the entries of the log files prior to using them to populate a database. Nightly, the system provides a pre-processing program to each of the servers. The servers executing the pre-processing component to filter the logged data before sending it on to the data collection and warehousing system. The data collection and warehousing system pre-parses each received log file to create dimension and fact tables. During this process, strings are replaced by keys. These keys are calculated on-the-fly by taking a hash of each string. The resulting tables are then further parsed to create further dimension and fact tables that correspond to each of the dimension and fact tables of a relational database schema. After further processing, these tables are loaded into a data warehousing system.

A mobile device transmits a request for data change information that includes a time out interval. The network application receives the request and measures a time elapsed since the receipt of the data change request. The network application will only transmit a notification to the mobile device client if new data is received or the time out interval has elapsed. As notifications are received, the mobile client device tunes the time out interval based upon network and device parameters.

Abstract:

A mobile radio frequency identification (RFID) system is described that includes a wheeled cart, a RFID reader mounted to the wheeled cart, a computer mounted to the wheeled cart and communicatively coupled to the RFID reader, and a directional antenna capable of being communicatively coupled to the RFID reader and movably mounted to the wheeled cart. The system also includes at least one omni-directional antenna mounted to the wheeled cart and capable of being communicatively coupled to the RFID reader. The computer is configured to process data received from the RFID tags and further configured to allow a user to selectively couple one or both of the at least one omni-directional antenna and the directional antenna to the RFID reader.

Systems and methods for configuration management in an article of manufacture disclosed. In one embodiment, a system for documenting a configuration of an article of manufacture includes an identifier positioned on the article of manufacture. A local positioning system is used to determine a positional location of the identifier on the article of manufacture.
