Bragging Rights:
Born in Columbia, Missouri, where I lived for 9 months. My dad was a Naval pilot assigned to carrier ships during WWII. 125 miles from Pearl Harbor when it was attacked. I'm very proud of him.. We were in Coronado, CA (oh, the beaches were so much fun!) for a year before moving back to Orinda, CA, 25 min from SF. After being a full time mom for 10 years, my mother applied & was admitted to Hastings College of Law in SF - 1 of 3 women in her class and the only women also raising 3 children, 6, 8 (me) and 10 yrs old. She had a very successful career as a lawyer and loved every minute of it. I'm also very proud of that prize in my life! Another prize is having survived my undergraduate college life at UC Berkeley during the Viet Nam War. I majored in Art but was very distracted by the interuptions - demonstrations, helicopters dropping tear gas, cancelled classes, and watching the national guardsmen driving in jeeps.with their guns. When I graduated I went to the SF Academy of Art - graphics and design - and loved it and did very well, But the tuition was high, so I left to start a rose delivery service that I ran out of my apt until the recession of 1973, when my orders were cut in half. I found a job in the legal dept of a bank, but wanted more opportunities, so I got an MBA at night at Saint Mary's College in Moraga, CA while I workded days. After graduating in 1979, I got married a month later, We have 3 great children and two wonderful granddaughters, Although I can only claim credit for the youngest, 28! I went to work in SF in finance at 2 different companies. One in the Embarcadero Center (Beautiful) and one kiddie corner from the BofA Transamerican Pyramid Bldg. I miss SF! . When we moved to So Callifornia, I moved into the IT world, Learned Peoplesoft Financials and supported employees using the software, among other positions at 4 companies before leaving the corp world to start my website business at home. We also survived a wonderful cruise down Baja this year and our 32nd anniversity. But now I want to hear what you have done and how you got into blogging. What are your passions and prizees of life you. It is your turn to brag! Can't wait to read about them on my blog!
