About:

Katy Roberts came to Havelock with her family from the Virgin Islands in 1975. She graduated from Havelock High School as “Who’s Who Among American High School Students”. After graduation she spent the summer co-opting at Cherry Point in the Supply Dept. and working weekends at Sound-N-Sea Realty in Atlantic Beach. Katy married Mike, a “local boy”, and started taking business courses at the local college. In 1984 she started with Cherry Point Federal Credit Union (now known as First Flight Federal Credit Union) as a Loan Processor and was soon promoted to Loan Officer. Katy headed up the Mortgage Dept. for Cherry Point Federal Credit Union and was named their 1st Mortgage Loan Officer. Given the opportunity to head the Accounting Department in a supervisor capacity, Katy accepted the position. In the Fall of 1990, due to a family crisis, she put her career on hold and moved back to the Virgin Islands. After two years, she took a position with a General Contractor in St. Thomas, where she learned the building aspect of the industry. In the summer of 1999, Katy moved back to Havelock with her husband and two sons. After getting the boys acclimated to “stateside living”, she started focusing on her career again. After considering her background in mortgage lending and her exposure to the building industry, she thought a career in real estate would be good for her. In June 2002, she started working on the required education and successfully obtained her N.C Real Estate Broker's license and soon began working for Coldwell Banker First Realty. Katy was awarded "Rookie of the Year for 2002, and not long after acheived Top Producer status at Coldwell Banker First Realty for the year 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007, Awarded Coldwell Banker's Presidents Circle for 2004, 2005, 2006 ,2007, 2008 and 2010. She also served as Treasurer for the Havelock Board of Realtors for 2004, Social Chairperson for the NRRAR 2007 and a Director of the MLS committe for the Neuse River Region Association of Realtors 2008, 2009 and 2010
